Anything Non-Dog Related / cat question
« on: February 02, 2006, 06:36:07 pm »
Hey everyone,

My cat Voodoo has started vomitting up food after he eats.  However after he vomits he goes back and eats some more and that food he keeps down.  He isn't losing weight and his stools and everything else look good.  I was thinking about changing the cats' food to Natural Balance ultra cat food.  Any ideas of what else could be the problem.

Voodoo's background:
I found Doo and his brother in a pet store when they were less than 6 weeks old.  The pet store staff were trying to feed them dry adult cat food.  Doo had an infection in both eyes and was so weak that he couldn't even cry.  I took both kittens home and gave them both antibiotics and got them on kitten food.  We didn't think that Doo would make it through the night since he was so bad off hence his name Voodoo.  He is now close to 9yo and he just started the binging and purging.

Sorry this is long but thanks for the help.

The homicidal maniac doesn't have to walk fast because the girls are nearly always wearing stilletos or some dress shoe and then nearly everyone trips over a branch, root, or carpet roll.  That's the reason that I always thought being a homicidal maniac used up too much energy.  You should just wait in one spot eventually the person you want to kill is going to run by and trip.  Is it wrong that I have actually thought about that?

I got my copy a couple of weeks ago and I just started reading it today.  It's too funny.  I have had some flashbacks to my Lab/Dalmation girls.  So that just makes it even funnier to me.

I am a sucker for tall, dark, and handsome.  I wish I could help out but I am in TX.  Have you tried contacting the local Weim Rescue?  He could foster with you and then you would get to interview and home check his new home.

I can't top any of those.  I have some pics of Kaila before she gets dirty.  She snorkles in her water bowl outside and then goes and rolls in the grass and dirt.  However you really can't see the dirt on her unless you see her in person.

That's an awesome picture.  Yep exactly what I was thinking about except mine was grey and black feathers and they were still floating in the air.

Try it with feather pillows.  I wish I had pictures of walking in the room and seeing feathers raining from the sky and two dogs standing in the big middle of them.  Thanks, for bringing back all the good memories.  Kaila and Cinder have taken out two rogue pillows.  I think mine were having a puppy pillow fight though.

Anything Non-Dog Related / Re: Non-dog Hobbies
« on: January 25, 2006, 11:34:50 pm »
I have dabbled in wide range of hobbies for awhile.  I paint in oil sometimes.  I have tried to quilt but my first quilt still isn't finished.  I cross stitch but nothing recently.  I also scuba dive when I get a chance.  But I think I have found my niche in hobbies.  I am a self proclaimed margarita taster.  I will taste test any and all margaritas.  I am also a great enabler for all my friends and I am the instigator for my friends.   I think instigation is my favorite hobby along with margarita tasting.  When I mix the two then the day is perfect.

I love the pics of Abby and you doing agility.  I have been taking my little one Kaila to agility also.  I am hoping to get her back into it and take her to a show.  By the way, I have two female Malinois named Cinder and Kaila.  Awesome pics.

Medical Conditions & Diseases / Re: Who here has a parvo survivor?
« on: January 23, 2006, 09:48:43 pm »
I had two dalmation/lab crosses that both survived parvo.  In fact they were siblings and were completely vaccinated when they got it.  But they both lived to the ripe old ages of 11 and 12.  I also have a friend whose puppy just went through a bout with parvo and survived.  I know at work we use bleach, betamint, betazyme, and virkon.  The virkon is supposed to be virualcide (okay I think I just made that word up).  I don't like it though because it gets all foamy and soapy.  I prefer to use bleach myself but then again I use it at full strength.

Do you know when it went on the recall list?  I didn't see it listed and on their website they say that they aren't being recalled.

I went and checked out this website.  It was very informative.  Of course after reading it and all the posts about food I am still very confused.  I am looking into changing food for my girls also.  I was looking at Merrick and Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul.  I have heard good things about Merrick but not much on Chicken Soup.  Has anyone heard first hand reviews of Chicken Soup?
