How to walk 3 dogs?
« on: May 23, 2008, 05:04:25 pm »
As Buble is getting bigger it is getting much harder to walk all three dogs at the same time.  I dont think it would be a problem if I werent 8 months pregnant!

But since I am and Hubby is out of town alot what do yall thik is the best way to walk all three of them?  I am going to get a coupler but I am trying to wait until Buble is walking well on a lead with everyone else.

Should I do a couple of trips for right now?  Walk Baxter and Buble first and then walk Bell unless hubby is with me?

Do they all walk well on leash?
If not, I would def. do more than one trip.
If they do, then I don't see a prob walking all 3.
Whatever works best for you so you don't hurt yourself.

Myself, I can do all 4, or do 2 and 2.  Where we live now I normally do 2 and 2 b/c there are no sidewalks and the streets are kinda narrow.  I don't like too many dogs in the road at once but have done it once to save time and used to do it all the time at my parents out in the country.

Bell and Baxter walk very well on a leash as long as Bell has a pinch collar on but Buble is still learning.  He walks alright but when he sees something that he wants then he starts to throw a fit because he cant just go to it.

Usually Hubby is home and he walks Bell and I walk Baxter and Buble and we all go at the same time. But he is gone for 6 days and will be back on Monday so hey have already gone a couple of days without a walk and they are getting antsy.

I guess I could always walk Baxer and Buble together and then Bell by herself.  Since Baxter and Buble equal about one of Bell ;D

We walk 6 dogs at the same time, they walk behind us or next to us in a row...granted not the best configuration because no one else can walk next to us... but OH WELL...the dogs are all behaved, and if one goes out of line we sternly make a EHEH noise, and the go back into place again.  If you let him go to what he wants, you will be doomed!!!

WOW I would love to see all 6 dogs walking at the same time!!!  Thanks for the advice everyone.  I figured that we would have to just take turns walking each of them.

Now I need to start practicing with a baby stroller! :-\  I am dreading that!!!

HAHAHA yea Bell has those issues with lawn ornaments.  Maybe it is just a wiem thing!  My aunt gave us one of those baby carriers so I will definatley be trying it out when she comes along with the stroller.

whatever you do...be careful.  nothing like a cute, tastey looking bunny running in front of you to make the pups want to take off with you attached.
