Big Sigh of Relief

I've been kind of keeping this on the down low, but only because I've been trying to keep positive thoughts going. About a month and a half ago I fell down bowling. I literally had to be carried off the lanes. My knee just gave out on me right in the middle of throwing my ball. I went to emergency only to be told that they didn't know what happened, but nothing was broken. They decided to set up an appt. with an orthopedic specialist so I could get more info. So a couple of weeks after I fell I went to ortho only to have them tell me that they don't know what happened, but an MRI might tell me if I have any damage. I was told depending on the results that I might need surgery. Well I got my results today and praise all that is holy I don't need surgery at this time. We did discover I have a VERY small cyst (called a baker's cyst) on the back of my knee and I have the beginnings of a chronic condition where the cartilage behind my knee cap is breaking down. So while I didn't get a clean bill of knee health I did get some questions answered on why my knee has been bothering me. Luckily with some rest and keeping my knee really loosened up before bowling I can slow down the cartilage thing and if the cyst gets any bigger I can get that drained. Now I can move on with my life and get back to giving Tater his long walks. Anyway I wanted to share my somewhat good news with someone since I've really been downplaying the knee issue with everyone at home. Thanks for listening.  :)

I am glad you don't need surgery!...I put my knee out in the middle of Dec...Tore whatever connects the back of the knee to the front...I was told I needed surgery too but so far so good if I'm careful.
