It amazes me as well how people can be SO confident telling you about YOUR dog!!

I haven't had anyone mistake Gunther in awhile, but I often get asked if Keiko is part coyote or wolf. Have people not heard of siberian huskies? Why does everyone think a dog that looks like a husky automatically has wolf in it?

Hahaha! It's true! And it seems the less a person knows about dogs, the more postitive they are that they are right! ::)
Modified to add: The woman who insisted that Cowboy was a Dalmation also insisted that he's the fattest Dalmation she'd ever seen!!! He should be on a diet!!! ( uh huh, thinks me...the dumb woman diet...she should be eaten!! ;) ;) ;))

We usually get either "is that a black saint bernard?" or "is that a black great pyrenees?" It is pretty funny when they argue with you... ::) I just try not to laugh.

I have a golden lab cross.. ::). That is the favorite of the people in my area. That and poor Kali is always referred to as he....she really needs to start wearing a tiara or something. And she has a very feminine face too.

ha ha....with Roxy (Mastiff) I get "what kind of horse is that?" "Do you have a saddle for that thing?" And also everyone thinks she is a Dane.

I usually get "Wooow, what a big gorgeous husky" with my Mal...and the most stupid this is "How come his eyes aren't blue?" and they look at him almost saying smth like "is he defective?" LOL
and that's when I get really angry... LOL
I always explain that it's not husky, it's a mal and yes, they are supposed to have brown eyes and even if he was a husky, he may still have brown or blue or one of each!
