Update folks. Just talked to the Pound People. The sweet boy has been pulled by Rescue. Not sure which one yet as they seemed not to know for sure. ? ? ? But the most important thing is that he is SAFE! I've talked to so many Rescues over the last day my head is actually spinning.

They have my phone # and Marie's too.

Marie, I hope he ends up with you. It would be such a fantastic home!  :-* I'll let you know the minute I hear back.

Thanks SO MUCH Tazz!!!!!!!!! You got it all rolling!

Windchills story is one of my all time favorites. I didn't read it again today, but do read it often whenever I need a story that reminds me of good people and hope.

I don't know about anybody else, but I am on pins and needles...lol. I am so glad he will be safe and it would only be a bonus if he was living with somebody from here!

Jane, Bless you.

Wonderful news for this guy! Thanks for letting us know.

Jane & Tazz!  If someone can pull him, we will take him I'm serious, I just talked to my husband and he is fully behind me on this.  We've been talking about adding someone to the family for awhile, but with health problems & all we've waited but with 5 humans in the family to help out we can handle another pup & this boy just looks like he needs to be part of our pack.  If there is another safe place for him that's closer, that's fine but otherwise we'd love to have him.  It sounds like he loves boys & we have 3 of them.   ;)  ;D  We're in the NW, but as soon as he can travel, we can have him flown to us.  Can someone please help us get him out of the shelter in time??  It's late here now, but I'll try to leave a message at the shelter asking for more time for him.  Please PM or e-mail me at:

pyrfectworld@yahoo.com

Thank you!
Marie

Modified to add:  Jane, I just e-mailed our info to you.  Please call me as early as you like if you have some ideas!  Also, I just left a message for the shelter.

THANK YOU!! The most I can do from where I am is offer to pay the pull fee. It looks like Jane has a handle on things and hopefully she can get there before anything awful happens.
This guy has been on my mind all night for some reason.

I'm back from town now but I made the call to the shelter before leaving home. Called twice & I got the voice mail so I left a message. They open at 7:00AM. I'll call again in the morning and do some more searching tonight. Looks as though he'll have to be in isolation for a while to make sure he's in good health judging by the information on the site.

Jane

Thank you. It says he walked up to a child which is how they finally caught him. He just looks so sweet.

70
Thanks everybody. I knew if he could be saved it would be from here. I can't take him either but like I said, if it just the pull fee, I'll be happy to pay that to save him. He is just so beautiful.

Slated to be PTS tomorrow morning at 9am. Anybody in Carroll county that can help? I'll be happy to pay the 15 dollar pull fee.

Maybe they should rename it Pit Bull Survivor Island.

A pair of veterinarians who bought Orange Coast College's remote Rabbit Island plan to use it to run their seven dogs, including four pit bulls they rescued from Hurricane Katrina.

The way to stop this can only be done before the winter and it
sounds stupid but you have to drill hales into the ground were the dogs pee so that it can sink into the earth below the top layer of ground
it is the prolonged frozen pee on the grass that burns it

Interesting! How deep do the holes need to be?

Simply adorable ;D No room  at the inn here, but I would take Liza for sure!!! Thank you for saving them!

« on: March 03, 2008, 06:27:52 pm »
Since you said to go ahead a rant, I'll join ya. Friday night @ 10om  my phone rang. Answering it I hear, "MOM I JUST GOT HIT HEAD ON, GET HERE NOW MOM,IT'S REALLY REALLY BAD MOM, PLEASE MOM GET HERE, I'M  HURT AND NEED HELP". Heart racing and nerves shattered, I race to where she was.
Pulling into the maze of police cars, ambulances and fire trucks I tried to prepare myself for what I was about to face. This is what I seen...

I looked around my daughter, scared to death, found her and realized for the most part she was not badly injured.Thank God.Then I realized something else....there was not a second vehicle there. I asked the police officer if the other driver was injured bad and had they already taken his vehicle? His reply? "The driver who hit your daughter took off!!!" WHAT??!!!!  We spent over 6 hours at the ER that night.Again, minor injuries, Thank the good Lord above. BUT, her insurance will cover this (thank heavens)minus her deductable until he is found! I can not tell you how much I want him found right now!

I know, be thankful for the small things. She was not hurt badly, van can be replaced, her kids were spending the night with gramma (me)...but dang. Why should she pay to have somebody hit and total her van out?

Ok, RANT OVER...NEXT :D
