The farthest dog beach "up north" is actually south of me......lol in Del Mar.  It is actually the closest one to me.  I don't know why there is not one closer.  Keiko LOOOOOVES Del Mar b/c it has more seagulls, and a inlet that she likes to cross now that she knows how to swim.

Gunther likes to climb on the rocks at Del Mar, but does not like the water much, but that may change since he hasn't been to the beach a whole lot yet.  Del Mar is off leash Sept 15-June 15, and on leash for the summer.

I guess I didn't answer your question.   ::)

I've found most dog beaches to be pretty much the same.  Alot of kelp, but most people are good about cleaning up after their dogs.  I wish they would have drinking fountains though.
