He is getting neutered today. It is going to be a long day for me. Dropped him off at 8:00 am and pick-up is between 4:00 and 6:00 this evening. At least they told me to call at 12:00 to check up on him.
-
Hope it goes well :)
-
aww good luck angus! :)

Good luck big boy!

Good Luck sweet Angus. Wishing you a speedy recovery :)

Angus says "Thanks Everyone". What can I expect when he gets home this evening?

When Puck got neutered he was over a year. He was still a little groggy when we got him home. All he did was sleep. We just set up some nice cozy blankets on the floor for him. The next day he was back to being himself. He was restricted to the leash for potty breaks for a week. I am sure your vet will have instructions for you to follow and the meds. Our vet said after he was home a few hours give him a bit of water not enough that they gulp it down. If he holds that down ok. Then you can give them a little food-if that stays down ok then you can give them more. Puck was very very hungry after too.

Here's to a quick recovery Angus!

Thx everyone. Just got off the phone with the vet centre. Everything went smooth and he is awake and relaxing. I can't wait to pick him up.
-
Oh good! did they tell you late in the day? You'll be so happy to see him! We did both Newfs on the same day.... ::)
Pick up time is between 4:00 and 6:00 pm. Time is moving slow today!!!!

That is great news. When Rosie went in for her spay I thought...what a nice break for me...ummmm yeah 2hours later I missed her so much....that was one of the longest days in my life ::)
-
Yep main after care instructions are leash walks for a week, watching for infection and preventing them from getting to the stitches. I'm sure he'll be bouncing by tomorrow but tonight he'll be a little groggy but since they did him in the AM he should be pretty alert by the time you pick him up. Kali sends drools for a quick recovery.

Good luck Angus, and hang in there Mom. :)
-
Poor guy. Good luck Angus. Hope everything goes OK. You'll be romping around in no time.

God Speed on the Recovery Angus... I have 2 going in on Thursday for spay and neuter. The Bigs here send out good wishes and happy thoughts.

PUPPER? how ya doing ?? It kinda stinks getting that done...but you'll be up and around in no time.

Angus is home!! And full of stinkin' energy. Pacing the hallway wanting to go out. Whinning, howling the whole 9 yards. I even feed him a cup of food at 6:00 (as per vets instructions) and a cup of water, he had no problems keeping that down (2 and a half hours and counting). This is going to be a tough week or so trying to keep him calm!!
When I got to the vet one of the assistants came around the corner with him saying "Oh Angus!! Boy you are strong!!" There was a golden in the lobby and Angus was ready to play. I got his weight finally and measured. 28-1/2" at the shoulders and a svelt 118 lbs.

it never works out that way. they do what they are capable of and seem to know their limits. Neither lady or grace would sit still the day of or days after fixing. they turned out ok.

Guess that's good news and bad news! Good to hear he's doing so well, sorry to hear you're going to have a tough time keeping him quiet! I think those were the longest 10 days in my life when Carter came to us with stitches. He was a wild thing! Fortunately we all survived. I guess the good news is that even wild things can manage the neutering and there are rarely complications. Maybe someone can find that link to the alternative to the e-collar. You might need that.

Glad to hear he is ok after hip op. We could be in your shoes one of these days as we have been thinking of getting Kitten done... Well there are three girls in the house :o, trouble is, if we do get him done we won't be able to show him anymore and his coat might go horrible and thick :-[

Awww! Poor Angus. :( I'm glad to hear that the surgery went well. Get well, Angus! :)
