: Saint and Mal mom July 09, 2006, 01:45:56 PM
Hey guys! Here's a cool website that can give you your dog's age in human years by having you answer some simple questions. Go to www.dogage.com and begin the dog age test. Zoey ended up being 10.2 years old and Dolly was 10.4 years old. Pretty cool!

Chris and I did the test separately and both got Bear's age to be 7.0 -- 2.6 years younger than average. We need to work on cutting down on the people food --- much to Bear's dismay. It is so hard saying no to her big brown eyes and drool whenever we eat!

How can EVERYONE'S puppers be "younger than average"?  I thought average meant the middle, meaning half are above it, and half are below it lol

It's probably because the majority of this group research any and all ways to improve the probability for long life in our pets, since by and large (pardon the pun) giant breeds are not as long-lived as other breeds.  Since we are comparing the way we treat our pets to the rest of society at large (Ol' Roy, anyone???  ;D ), our pets will probably all come out more or less younger than average.  :-)

Thats because all of us have educated ourselves on what we can do to for our large breeds to prevent the on set of unhealthy living. Most of us have researched our dog food and know what is best for our pup's and that really is the key to a healthy pup ! I always hear people say well i m not going to spend alot of $ on my dog if it got sick well i always think of my pets of more then just dogs they are a really large part of my family and i would do anything for all 3 of mine. marina

I did Piper's (Piper died a few months ago just shy of 14 yrs old) and it said she was about 67 yrs old.  I didn't even bother to try to do Carter's or anyone elses.  It doesn't ask how old they were when you got them, what their past life was like...  IMO it asks a lot of surface questions but doesn't get into the real nitty gritty of things that might age your dog.  Entertaining, but not really useful IMO.

I can personally attest to this test not being reliable.  It said Badger was 7.8 years younger than average, and he is falling apart.  He can barely walk because of his bad rear legs, has arthritis in his front legs...he is lazy and NOT 'active'.....I call shenangins!
