I need help from all you medical types
« on: October 05, 2005, 04:02:24 am »
HOW THE **** DO YOU GET THAT BLACK MEDICAL TAPE RESIDUE OFF OF YOUR SKIN!?!?!?!?!

I've scrubbed my arms raw with my exfoliant, I tried Dawn and Dove dishsoap, I tried scraping it with my nails, I took a dripping wet washcloth and let it sit on my arm for half an hour to see if it'll soften it.  NOTHING.  I'm VERY frustrated as this black gook is like all over my arm and I'm supposed to have some job inerviews soon (They might let me drive, but not far distances so that means the photography job won't work out any more)

Get it off!!!!!!!!!!! :'(

Was the wash cloth you used warm? I would think that soaking in hot/warm water would help.

More gentle on the skin options would be Wd40, or, oil, such as olive oil and a little soap.

Try oil.

Baby oil, or one of those orange oil cleaners. Make sure it's not wet when you apply the oil.

Most of the time oil will remove adhesive sticky stuff.

How much is on your arm?  And is it like band-aid residue? I would think any kind of oil would work.  Are ya gonna have to pull off arm hair too?  OUCH!

Goo-gone works like a charm. I use it on everything when I can't get the damn stickers or the residue off of something.

STOP!!  Call your Avon Lady.

Avon Skin-So-Soft!

Goo gone will work, but SKIN SO SOFT is by far the best thing going.  Original scent works best.

That stuff is the ONLY reason I ever call the Avon lady.  You can use it to remove ANY kind of adhesive off ANYTHING--I've never known it to fail.

I've used it to get gum and duct tape out of hair/fur/out of pads.

It's by FAR the best thing you can use to get paint off anything, including your hands.   It will, in fact, strip the paint or varnish off almost anything.  (Don't take a bath in it when you've had your nails done unless you want to remove the polish!)

My brother paid his way thru college as a mechanic, and he used it every night to clean up his fingernails.

It's by far the best bug repellent going.  Mix it 2-1 and spray it on screens to keep flies, etc. away from your doors.

Spray tents with it before going camping.

It's stinky, but it works.
