Yes, vet had not checked her properly at the beginning as baby was perky, tried to bite, and wound were not seen at all - so rabbies vaccine was the first thing (we have quite high number of rabbies here, so it is the first thing to worry about) - vet's mistake, but who was able to imagine that injuries are so serious, large and old alreday?
No, they did not take it stright to me - people took that injured creature to the vet, and then vet called me - can I take the poor soul in if she/he survives, or she/he will be PTS as there are no other solutions - our shelter can not take in wildlife animals, no wildlife rescues at all (if animal is rare, CITES list, our Zoo takes them, but racoons, foxes, storks, swans - they are not rare, endaged species, so they can hope only for somebody like me).
I'm now keeping fingers crossed so baby will survive the night.
