A good friend of mine has 3 dogs & I get alot of dog savvy info. from her with Samson who is my 1st dog...One fun bit of info. is that if you smell your dogs paw pads they smell like Fritos...lol.. I swear they do..Try it!

Thank you sooooo much lol...... I got all excited and ran for Heras foot, she must have stepped in something, because that foot did NOT smell like fritos, lets just say, I need to go wipe her feet down now before she decides to wipe it off in my bed. Ill try it when they are clean instead lol ;D

That is really wierd. Bear's feet smell like him- they carry his scent just like everything else does.

yep, my labs feet have always smelled like fritos and i just love the smell of them! my 1st sharpei's feet did too but not my second one :( i have heard they smell like that because that is how a dog sweats, thru their feet.

LOL. I just posted a few moments ago in the rottie forum how their plump little rottie pads smell like popcorn. Fritos, too. That's funny! Sometimes I walk into the bedroom and all three monsters are sprawled around, two on the bed, one on the floor, and the whole room smells like "Fritos/popcorn!"

well, we washed our feet after the first try that didnt go too well, but Heras feet still dont smell other than Hera (much better than the poop smell last time lol) Galahad I think his still smell just puppy, Both Buffy and Zeus feet smelled like grass when I checked them. So no fritos here :(

i just tried it again (LOL, CODY THINKS MOM HAS GONE BONKERS LOL)...and i kinda get the frito thing. mostly becaus i want to smell fritos so i am in the cool club....but i think some of the smell is actually there. angus just smells like angus, i cant describe it lol.

It is a very salty smell though. OMG again, we are turning into our dogs, that is how they check everthing out, with their noses. I think we are all going mad. Is there any hope. :-[

I think it's their perspiration, since they have sweat glands in their feet. So, smell them after they've been exercising. Also, perhaps diet plays a role in the odiferousness.

my dogs feet always smell like frito...i told my hubby to smell them but he said no but i think he did but doesnt want me to think he as gooft as i am.....i like the smell of thier ears and the best thing is puppy breath....love it

It was only a few months ago when I caught a good friend of mine taking a big smell of Hutch's paws. She told me she loved the smell, she said it is like a movie theatre filled with popcorn! Now everytime she comes over she has him sit and give his paw so that she can smell his feet. I have warned her, there may be a day that it won't be such a good idea!!

OK guys You got me. Im going to smell. BRB... OMG POPCORN and memories. I think I used to smell our dogs feet when I was little. ::) The smell reminds me of Lady, our dog when I was little :'(. I must have been a strange child. :o

Wow Karen, what a great photo. Look at the car! Sure does bring back memories of a time when life was simpler. Thanks for sharing. My husband thinks we're nuts smelling our dog paws.

LOL Thats so funny. I never thought about it that way. ;) Seriously though ::) I wonder if its because there is corn in the dog food. Kinda like when someone eats lotsa garlic they smell like garlic ?????

OKAY... I resisted as long as possible, but today I finally gave in. While Ranger was napping I checked a paw and sniffed. OMG - they do smell like Fritos! Of course, now I'm not sure whether I can eat fritos again...... :D

OMG This is so funny. I told my hubby to smell Judges feet. I didnt say anything about this post. He smelled, then smelled again. I said "WELL??" I said "Fritos or Popcorn?" He got this really funny smirk on his face and said " Frito!!" I'm still LMAO. How funny is that.

My friend Ann & I both think that our husbands who publicly refuse to smell the dogs feet are doing it when we aren't looking...lol!

I still haven't been able to tell because everytime I try to smell his feet he licks my face and rolls onto his back for some belly love! I guess I'll have to take your word for it girls!

Okay, tonight while he's sleeping I'm going to go dress up in all black clothes and put some black makeup on... Then I'll belly crawl ssssllllloooow wwwllly over to where he's sleeping and take a huge sniff (you know, the Molly Shannon armpit sniff) and then I will know for sure - no doubts! Hubby will commit me if I get caught, but I'll know the Frito Feet smell ;D

OK Nat, what happened. You have had ample time to do the deed but we have not heard. All of the kids in my neighborhood are now smelling their dog's feet and giggling. I think it will be the latest craze and we can all now take credit, especially whoever started this stupid thread - I think it was Gypsy - take a bow Gypsy.

I can't believe this! :o I was just commenting to my DH that the dogs feet smelled like corn chips. Then I sign on today and see this messege! We're all on the same wave length I'm thinking!

I am just laughing at how this thread took off!...My friend Ann who is a member here called me one day & told me about the Frito feet...I couldn't believe that they actually did smell like that!...I still haven't gotten my sister to smell her Collie pups feet but I know she will cave in eventually...L OL!

I can't believe I am going to drive straight home from work and smell my dogs feet - thank goodness my husband is working late tonight!!!!
