General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / The Vet Trip
« on: April 25, 2006, 05:05:26 am »
Well we just got home from the Vets. What a TRIP!!! It was my husband, my 6 month old daughter, myself, and 3 dogs. Robin and Moose were the only 2 that needed to go, but when Brody stands up and looks over the brick wall and watches the car back out of the driveway how can you leave her home? So we took her along. Moose got a clean bill of health and EVERYONE loved him.He is 49.8 lbs at 16 weeks old. Brody is 79.6 lbs at 11 months she was my abused great dane so I don't know that she is going to be a very big dane. And Robin is 76.7 lbs at 3 yrs old. She also got a clean bill of health. I'm really tired from trying to handle the monsters and the baby. Just thought I would let you all know.

I am just amazed with Cyprus' colors. I noticed that all of you are really good at figuring out what colors the danes are considered. Can anyone help with Moose's color? I will try to post some of the better pictures showing his colors.

Anything Non-Dog Related / I finally finished it !!!!
« on: April 23, 2006, 08:09:59 am »
I started this quilt probably about 4 yrs ago. I started by cross stitching the animal babies. I cross stitched 12 of them and then sewed them together to make this quilt. I am soooo proud of how it turned out. :) Just thought I would share it with you guys. I started a fire truck quilt for the little boy we are adopting so I will post pictures of that when I finish it. :)

I had just finished feeding my daughter Makaylee her dinner when the clean up crew came into the room, Makaylee was getting a kick out of the dogs being with her. Luckily I had my camera handy. THere is nothing like a baby and her dogs. There is also a recent picture of Moose. The first picture is one of my favorites with Makaylee and Brody, the rest are Makaylee and Robin.

We took Robin and Moose to dog park last night. Poor Brody had to stay home because she is in heat. Anyways there was a couple of girls there that had 2 italian grey hounds. A male and female. They were VERY cute, and VERY fast. This little boy was out running EVERY dog at the park. Anyways the female has given birth to 4 puppies about 8 days ago they said. Isn't it dangerous to take the mother dog out to a place like that? They said she needed excercise, but the poor dog kept going to the gate and crying or wanting to be picked up. I felt so bad for her. I told the girls that you never know what the mom dog is going to pick up and take back to her puppies. Am I wrong? Or are you not suppose to do something like that. I understand that the mom probably needs excercise, but I know that after I had my daughter I didn't feel like going out for excercise. It was hard enough to walk through a store. I just feel so bad for her.

Groans, Gripes, Brags & Boasts / I'm sorry but I just need to vent
« on: March 30, 2006, 11:01:30 pm »
My husband was going to get us some ice cream tonight and since the baby was already in bed I told him to go without me and just bring me something back. He had been teasing the dogs about going for a ride. I told him not to take Moose with him but to take the 2 girls. Moose being only 12 weeks old doesn't ride very well in the car unless he is being held onto. Well he took Moose anyway, he didn't even get out of our sub before Moose got under his feet and he was worried about the dog and slammed into a parked car. Why couldn't he have listened to me. Thank god noone was hurt, and me and the baby were not in the car, but still. I specifically told him not to take Moose and he  told me that he was worried about taking Moose because of the fact that he doesn't ride well in the car. Now the only car we have has a good amount of damage done to it. I'm just frustrated I guess. Sorry but I just needed a place to vent. Men I swear!

Great Dane Pictures / Moose and the carseat
« on: March 11, 2006, 11:19:18 pm »
Here is a picture I posted about a week or so ago. The first one is Moose sitting in my daughters carseat at just 7 weeks old. The second picture is him sitting in the carseat at 9 weeks old. It isn't a good picture because as you can tell he has outgrown the carseat already. Its amazing how fast they grow!!!

Anything Non-Dog Related / Help with Cat urine.....
« on: March 07, 2006, 02:20:09 pm »
My little sister just moved out of my mom's house and left behind her cat. Since she left the cat has started marking EVERYTHING including my mom's brand new couch, all of the carseats for her daycare that are kept on the front porch on shelves. (a stray cat is also marking the carseats) Does anyone know of anything that works really well to get the smell out? We have taken the carseats apart and washed all of them but the smell is still there. Any suggestions?? thanks guys

Moose. Everyone in California kept telling me that my puppy wasn't a puppy but a Moose. So the name stuck. He is doing great. I am at my mom's house in California and we got him here. My mom does daycare so Moose is getting a lot of interaction with the kids. He is doing great. I just love him. Everyone that sees him wants to steal him.

I don't know if anyone would be interested in meeting at Del Mar Beach, but I am visiting my mom in San Diego and would like to get together with any of you who would want to. I am available Sunday March 5th, and the weekend after that the 11th and 12th I believe. I know this is short notice but thought I would give it a shot. If we do it the weekend of the 11th or 12th my pup will be good on his shots. :) Let me know if anyone would be interested.

Hi Everyone,
I don't know that I even posted anything about it but thursday feb 9th was my birthday. It was the first time in 3 yrs that my husband was actually going to be home on my b-day and Valentines day. I was really excited about it. Well he forgot. Didn't do anything, didn't say anything about it. I was hurt and a little mad and honestly wanted to kill him. Well yesterday he had the day off and told me that he wanted to go for a ride in the car I thought ok. So we loaded baby Makaylee up in her seat, and off we went. Well what was suppose to be a 3 hr drive turned into a 5 hr drive because of traffic. Well, we got to this ladies house, and we were greated by a very large fawniquin(sp?) great dane. He was gorgeous. Then we were greeted by a lady with a silver merle great dane puppy that had a happy birthday ribbon on. She handed me the puppy and I cried. I have been looking for either a silver merle, or a harlequin since I lost my Tonka in September. I haven't found any in Arizona and if I did I couldn't afford the high prices. It turns out my husband has a friend he works with whose parents had a litter of great danes and they had a silver merle. They worked out a deal with my hubby. We got home late last nite, and Brody and him have been playing nonstop. The lady had been calling him Bullet, but we changed his name to Luke because we got him up by Luke Air Force base. He is such a sweetie. He has HUGE paws and was a lot bigger than his brother and sister that they had left. I love him to death. Luke LOVES Makaylee and tried the entire ride home to get in her carseat with her, and every sound she makes he is right there. It is really cute. His coloring is beautiful as he is a silver merle but has fawn in him. It almost makes him look dirty. A lot of his grey spots are actually brindle looking. Hes beautiful. Pictures don't do him justice but I know that you guys will want them. So I've posted a few that the lady had sent to my husband. Well I have to go I will chat with you all later. I guess my husbands not so bad after all ;)

Anything Non-Dog Related / Shes growing up way tooo fast
« on: February 01, 2006, 12:18:01 am »
We took my daughter to get her 3 month pictures done today. She is growing up way too fast. But I loved the pictures and thought I would share them. The photographer (at Walmart) was the best. He even used her security blanket (the pink striped zebra thing) in the pictures to calm her down. She was in a great mood until the first picture was taken and then she was so crabby. The last picture she had had enough and was screaming. So we called it quits. But I was so impressed with the guy who took the pictures.
