: Well, I picked her out!
: NewfFan February 17, 2009, 12:38:58 PM
Here is the lab puppy I picked! She was evualated as 3rd pick of the litter, and I'm very excited to get into some showing with her! She's a little chunk of a thing, yet so pretty and lady-like, not sure what to do as far as names go! Any ideas?

Anyway, I'm very happy with my decision, and I can't wait for you all to get to know her. She comes home with me on either Sunday or Monday (which ever day works for me).

As for names, it would help if you had something in mind otherwise everything under the sun will come up.........lol .

I will say, commen female lab names are:

Sadie
Lucy
Bella
Abbie/Abbey
............we have several of each at work.......lol . (commen male names are even worse.....more males have the same name than females).

Daisy is cute.  That was on Grace's short list of names when I was naming her.   so was Scarlet and Olive.

What about Dreama or Dairia or Porsha.  Maybe Heather.

What a cuti pie...names all I can say is it will come to you..Good boy just got his name this evening..and he's been here almost two weeks..

But I can say there are a great many word jumble experts here and while I didn't use any of the names they came up with they came up with a bunch..

Good luck with your new girl..welcome to the adventure of puppyhood..and showing if that is the direction you are going..

What a cutie!  Have to say that I second Sela - it's very feminine but different so you won't be meeting another Sela every time you go to Petsmart!

Ohhhh, I LOVE Sela Ward. She is SO pretty, and what an actress. Now, her name is pronounced See-la, right?

Right now it is between Sela and Daisy, or Rory, or Emory.
But I shall check out this word jumble that Ms Tricia is talking about! :)

Thanks everyone!

Ruthanna, am I still invited to the Newf G2G in Texas? Maybe "Sela" can be the honoray Newf?

Lori,
That's funny because I've been thinking of Luna all evening.
And, well Lanie and Libby were are the top of my list, but they are both taken by some pretty fab labs!
Hey if I go with Luna, we'll have the three L-named Labradors of BPO! Haha.

Yup it's pronounced See-la.
Whatever name you pick out will come to you.  sometimes it just takes having them around a few days or so for them to develop a name all their own.

Grace's name doesn't really fit her. She's hardly very Graceful. I just loved that name when I picked it out.  She's actually named after an old lady I knew as a kid, Grace Thomas.  When mom and dad told her I named my big ole dog after her, she laughed so hard.  I loved that sweet ole lady.   I just love that this monster rottie pops around the corner and people hear such a sweet little name for her.

This is a great link Jo!  I'm kinda funny, and like really different names, or names with a middle eastern flare.  Naja is actually Arabic, so the name Kali stands out to me for your little gurlie girl!  PS. She really is too sweet for words!!   :-* :-* :-*

Thank you everyone!
I went and played with her this morning for about an hour and tried out names, the ones that kept sticking were:
Whitney (thanks Patty) and Bristol.

I'm leaning more towards Whitney. My fiance can't figure out how to say Sela, haha.

Patty, I love older names, in fact Claire is a fave of mine, but I want to keep that for a furless child. I think that's great Greta was almost a Chantilly, can that be her middle name? :D

Tina, I didn't know Jack and Sparrow got their names from Pirates, that's too cool! I like Keira, but fiance doesn't, so I guess my Pirates theme is out.

Thank you everyone, there shall be a multitude of pictures when she comes home.

Bristol!  That's neat.  Like Sarah Palin's daughter.  :) I like the name.  I just like people names for dogs is all.

Yep, like Sarah Palin's daughter, although I'm not making a political statement, I just like the name!
Right now I'm calling her Whitney.
