Are the wood ceilings original or did you add them? After seeing similar ones in Italy, I want them really bad but I get the idea they'd be really hard to put into a house after it was built, since they are so heavy.
Noo, I didn't added them, they are part of house construction, 11X11 inches, 12 metres long.
My house is end of 17th century, and I doubt anybody would be able to offer such size oak beams these days. They are original, about 300 years old.
Also the arches were build alon with house, and it took me 9 months to renovate the brick floor, but at least I can say proudly that 90 % of bricks are made no later than 19 century.
Walls of the house is nearly 3 ft, solid brickwork, and some of the granit foundation stones weight few thousands of kilgrams.
It is a quite old house, and all the things there, older or newer, are original products of the time. We just use them different like I use sledge as a reading seat during the summer, and now I stacked there our Christmas tree.
