yellow -dog- mom, where are you?
« on: December 04, 2008, 07:13:48 pm »
I am struggling with a decision I need to make about dew claws. Luke will be 1 year old Feb 8, so I am trying to decide about neutering after the first of the year. I am assuming it is the best thing to do. But my vet suggested removing his dew claws. What are you going to do with Greta?
Will you have her spayed, and will you keep her dew claws?

Wow....I bet that was a good time. Happy late birthday!

Well, I was just second guessing my decision I guess, because it's getting close to time to schedule. I don't like surgery decisions.

Someone has reminded me that I already brought up this issue.......so nevermind.

There was a big discussion where a group of knowledge Pyr owners pointed out that Pyrs are supposed to have and retain their dew claws (and that their claws are solid and connected).

I wanted to have dew claws removed from my bubs while under for spay/neuter as well but my vet said she doesn't do them after six weeks of age because after that they turn into actual bone. They are official toes now and unless torn or infected she doesn't remove them. Much more involved and susceptible to further complications.

That's my two cents.

Patty - I could have sworn you said you were taking your mom to Vegas because it was her birthday! Happy Belated Birthday to you!!!

I'm sooooo happy my breeder removed the pups' dewclaws when they were born. One less issue to deal with.

I would love to have one less issue to deal with!!!

The trip to Vegas sounds so appealing..... for obvious reasons and the fact that it is suddenly freezing here! Do we need to think about bailing out the casinos?

Just thought I'd get my two cents in on the matter.  I had a vet that suggested removing Najas dew claws at her spay.  I switched vets.  ;)

That's why I brought it up again because I knew he would be neutered the first of the year. But I'm gonna keep them on like I decided a while back. The tear we read about this morning just reinforced my doubts about my decision.

I thought I heard that some casinos were in trouble. I think they even mentioned Donald Trump having issues. Poor guy...

Hah!!!That is some ugly hair! Sometimes I wonder with that kind of thing if someone who knows him and loves him why they don't say, "you need to fix your hair".

It's probably in his pre-nup/will. Don't touch the hair or all assets are frozen. :D

I guess it kinda disproves the idea that "money isn't everything". It might not be everything but it is alot of things. It obviously buys silence.

Money also buys dates..and beautiful, but *material girl wives* Can you imagine the dates he'd have if he worked at a fast food drive up window ???  ::)  ;D

Consider trying to run your hands through HIS hair?? It's probably about the same feeling as picking up Sadie's dead mouse! ;)

I'm kind of liking the eyebrows myself. They look like they have that same cotton candy texture. :D
