: THIS IS RIDICULOUS!
: Nicole November 18, 2008, 09:02:27 AM
This was in my local paper today. I'm absolutely appalled. I don't even know what to say. Who would do this?!

There was something like this that happened in MN a couple of summers ago.  Two different horses, on two different farms, in two different cities.

One was simply shot.  The other was mutilated.   >:(  >:(  there was a huge reward but i don't believe anyone was ever caught.

We just had something like this a couple of weeks ago in Livermore CA.  Two horses and a cow were shot.  WTF?

I was thinking the same thing Nicole.  What do you mistake a Belgian for, some big*ss dear?

It is pretty pathetic.  I know of several incidents like this, and there is no way the animals were mistaken for "game".  The Livermore incident, the horses and cow were in pastures right next to the highway.  Oh, and, up north a bit, some dumn*ss drove up the highway shooting cattle at various dairy farms.  I would be ashamed to have parented any of them~!

And, some people think Humans are an "inteligent life form".  >:(

A moose? Cuz you know...um, there are lots of moose in rural northwest Indiana?  ???

That was the only thing I could think of too, but, I just can't see that.  Of course, I'm not a hunter either (no offense meant to the responsible hunters here).  Wouldn't the lack of antlers be a clue?

Well, there have been people shot mistaken for deer as well.  Last summer, again in MN, actually in the town my parents are from and most of my family still lives......... ....a teenager was shot and killed by a family friend on a hunting trip.  :(

Apparently the bright orange hat and vest wasn't enough.  :(

When I saw this article the first person I thought of was Jane (marymjm) Her beloved horse was shot and killed in the same manner- most likely by hunters, within the last two weeks. So guys one of our very own BPO members has suffered this same devastating loss recently because of some stupid careless person. Jane only shared this info with her closest friends. Needless to say she is extremely devastated by the loss. My heart goes out to any family that suffers such a needless loss.
