Collars, crates, & other cool things / Soft claws for dogs
« on: December 26, 2005, 11:38:16 am »
Has anyone ever tried soft claws for dogs or any product like it that would help with sliding on bare floors? Since we've been cooped up in the house for the winter Ive noticed them playing more inside & sliding around way too much for my liking. I found this product on a site "all pets considered" & it was developed by a vet sounds like it could be good.

Kiya 1-1/2 still doing it, worst is shes also known as the million kisses girl. I do warn hubby or vet techs "NO Kiya kisses". Now that the phenobarbital is making her think shes starving its worse. My vet did say to try & bait her with the tabasco sauce but I don't think that will do any good unless I can get every poop she comes across. We will give it a whirl. Hubby swears its a game now with her, but I don't make a fuss. I walk around with the shovel & pick up as soon as I can. The only time I have a hard time is when 2 dogs poop at the same time.

Behavior, Housebreaking, Obedience / Re: Officially Sleep Deprived - Help!
« on: December 21, 2005, 02:32:30 pm »
I can definatley relate, I felt bad for Kiya since she has been on the meds (almost a month now). It got to 2x's a night with her. For the last week & a half TUFF love. Our schedule is still the same we go out at 10pm & wake up at 5. I yell out "go lay down" or ignore her & she goes back to bed. This morning I heard her, it was about 4am. I tried to go back to sleep but I had to go to the bathroom. I got up & ignored her then went back to sleep for an hour (thank God).  She is crated, if she were loose she'd potty in the house.

Kiya makes me nuts out of my mind. I follow them around with the shovel & catch it as it hits the ground. Now I have to keep the bag out of her reach!

Glad to hear you & Cowboy are doing better. I certainly know how good it feels to get back to a normal routine. We got our credit card bill yesterday. I got home & saw that Billy didn't open it, he said "it is what it is" What it was...was the 2 dogs & the cat. Oh my God I just about hit the floor. And he wanted to go on a ski trip HA!

My boy is 3 years old today, he's such a good boy. We went on our walk this morning, we'll have some extra cookies & if its not raining tonight we'll go on a "moonlit" walk.

Hi Wendy, I can only begin to understand how you must feel. My only experience with siezures was with Kiya 3 weeks ago, it scared me so much. A doctor you feel you can have faith in means so much and to feel your going in the right direction is great. Good luck to you.

I saw a story once about "asiatic" fur..guess what that is. NEVER NEVER buy asiatic fur. A lot of those furry animal figures you see are made of that & collars on jackets.

Personally I would make an agreement that if it didn't work out you MUST be notified before any decissions were made. In my contract from Apaches breeder it states that the puppy/dog must not be surrendered to any shelter, the breeder must be notified first.
Good luck what ever you decide.

Im so glad he's better. So now between all of us with sick babies ENOUGH!!! We had my company christmas party last night, we were home by 10:30. Kiya is having "frequent" potty issues & has to stay on her schedule. Billy didn't have a problem leaving early (imagine that) & were not going away for new years (hurray!)

Im so very sorry. Everyone knows how hard you tried. Please remember you did your best & you are not to blame you did not fail, the situation was far out of control. As much as we try sometimes we just cant win. Your both in my thoughts.
Sincerely,
Carolyn

Cindy just think I add 2 horses on my list total - 3 dogs (2 sick), 2 cats & 2 horses. My sister-in law (bless her little soul, not a animal person hate slobbers & hair) likes the horses in the winter when theres snow & she doesn't have to clean the pens.
