Hi Everyone!
Jeannie said that we would be coming on and I am so glad that she is getting Derby and so here we are and I finally got my Bassett Hounds to sit!!! Phew! What a job that was! Buddy is on the Left and Henry is on the right. We adopted Henry from a Bassett Hound Rescue and this is our second year with him. Vet said he must have had broken ribs at one time. Rescue told us he was 2 years but because of his arthritis along his back he is about 7 or 8 but he is such a good boy!!!!! Buddy we acquired about 3 months ago and it looks like he went through 4 homes and this will be his last!! They have a 55 x 240 foot privacy fenced yard to play in. This is one of our first times adopting Bassetts instead of getting a puppy! So we finally made it on here! Janese

Hi and thank you! We are Tracy Gostomski Tribble's cousins and we met her there at the funeral. Tracy's mom took us over to her to meet her and Jeannie is so sweet! I don't know what I am doing wrong though I can't get the picture next to the name in the corner. How do you do that we have been working on it for quite a while????? It was getting irritating! Thank you everyone for being so welcoming to us!! We have been through a lot of stuff in the past 3 months and I think everyone here will do me some good! I love everyone's Doggies! I have to work on getting ours to pose for nicer picture but that is okay they had a rough life and now they feel like they are Kings!! hahahahaha!!! I am trying to get my daughter to come on with her adopted Basset also which is all black and white and looks like a minature cow!!! Our two bassets had to gain at least 22 pounds after we got them but hers kept going for some reason. He got up to 65 lbs but we cut his feed and he has lost about 5-8 lbs. But he is a bigger boy and so lovable! So I will see if she wants to come on! After she gets married Waldo will move to Alabama with her! sob, sob, sob,!

Hi everyone! Thank you again and I am really enjoying this site!! You have all been so nice and thoughtful and your dogs are awesome!!!! Mine are just short but not so small otherwise! This is the only dog that my husband has really enjoyed! He never had one when growing up and so it was challenging and out of all the dogs the Basset Hound worked the best for him. We had another one long time ago and he was awesome and than we didn't have another for quite a while and than decided to start again and of course it was Bassets again!! hahahaha! But I think you have to get what agrees with everyone in the family! If my hubby is happy than we are all happy! hahahahha!!!!! Janese

Hi welcome to BPO. You are totally going to love it here. We used to have 2 rescued bassett's a couple of yrs ago (they passed away :() and then I decided to get the 2 wacky pups I have now. They pup in my avatar is my hodgepodge, as my son puts it, Tater and my other pup is Willow the Neo Mastiff. Please post lots of pics of your bassett's. I just love the breed to death. :)

Welcome aboard!! I'm April and I was with Jeanne at Tracy's funeral. Tracy was the one who helped me get my puppy Kitana. We think she's a german shepard mix. I also have a great pyrenees named Kiah.

Your pups are adorable! Welcome to the board! I'm Daphne, currently owned by two Labs, Jesse and Eider, a Great Pyr, Carter, and an Anatolian Shepherd, Katie. Carter and Katie came through rescue and Jesse and Eider were both pre-owned, though not rescue situations. Rescues sure have a soft spot in my heart! Wish I had room for a pr of bassets too! They are so cute!

Oh boy I am not going to remember everyone's name!!!! Hahahahaha! We have come to love the rescuers also and even though Henry was from a rescue in Kansas City missouri Buddy was a preowned and unfortunately He was passed from family to familly and then my daughter had him for about a month in a half and it didn't work out and she called us and we said why not!!!He loves it here, he is a great Basset!! Henry gets a little lippy with him but we just basically growl with a knock it off voice and his lip goes back down. We want them two to get along because they both need a nice home and basically when you get them from a shelter or kennel you don't know what type of life they had and it is a whole new ballgame for everyone! But you have all been wonderful!!!

Glad to see you are finally on BPO! Actually I have been so busy that I have not been on. This wedding is becoming so consuming! But it is the last one! Hahahahaha! We got home yesterday and Buddy just ran through the house and he thought we were following but we stayed in the kitchen and it took maybe 2 minutes and he came barreling back into the kitchen. Last night we got in late and he curled up by my feet at the computer and he thought they would forget about him when they said to go nigh nigh! Didn't work, he finally got up and waddled to his bed. So busy busy day today have to get going. Love ya, Mom

I have really been enjoying all the dogs on here! Absolutely adorable!!!!! I put a picture of my daughters black and white basset from a rescue also and he will go to Alabama with her when she gets married in September.

What wonderful looking dogs....all three! Is your daughter SURE that she wants to take her dog with her when she leaves? Maybe you should keep the dog so she'll have to come back often to visit!
I have two Newfoundlands, Cowboy, a 3 1/2 year old angel dog, and Chester, a 15 month old rascally brown boy. Welcome! We're all so glad to have you on board!
My daughter is getting married a year from September so please feel free to pass on any tips for not killing each other. So far so good...but it's only been a month and a half! :D :D

Thank you the two on left are from rescue and the one on right everyone kept passing him on, so we are I think his 5th owner and he is so sweet. He is a keeper same as the rest! The black and white one whose name is Waldo, grabbed everything and anything that would fit in his mouth!!! Pulled it right out of the holes of the hamper!!! So we had to go through a lot with him and my daughter was really getting aggravated! No way could we leave with him uncrated!!!!! I would have nothing left in my house! I still can't trust him but he is 75% better and actually knows what no means now!! He has the real Bassett Attitude, never knew what it was till we got him!! Hahahahaha! We love him though but he is still going to Alabama and he will miss me! He is about 63 pounds and bigger boned than the others but so lovable!!!! She will still visit often.
As of not killing each other are you talking about her and you??? Hahahahahaha!!!! Just make sure you have some place to go to, to vent when have to!!! My son is calling me and telling me how many days there are left and I think I am ready to attack him!!!! Hahahahaha!!! But everything will be cool. My daughters is a Cinderella wedding because of how everything took place. I am sewing all the dresses so it has been hectic!!!! But everything will all fall into place!!! Get a notebook and mark and cross off as you go!! Anytime you want some tips just message me!!! Be glad to give you some!!!

Your dogs are so adorable also! You are right about being hooked on here! I didn't know about this site till I found it under the listing with Tracy Tribble who is my husbands cousin. My daughter called me and told me to go to this site because of some messages. I have truly enjoyed being on here since and the dogs are all adorable. Glad to be aboard!!!!
