Gosh how time is flying! Our little eight week old pup has morphed into a big, sloppy bear of a dog *grins*. Gershwin turned four months last week and I took a couple of pics today and weighed him - he is now 71 pounds and eating his weight in dog food!

What a cutie he's gotten so big.
-
Oh my goodness he is HUGE and ADORABLE!!!!
I have never seen such a big puppy before. :o Wow.
;D
-
Awe I am so in love with that boy ;D He is sooooo handsome. I just want to give him a big kiss :-*

Too cool,
Gershwin looks great. My pup is also four months old. Hope things are going well for you and Gershwin. My pup is doing very well. He does everything I want him to do as long as I am patient and he gets in the mood to do the things I want him to do. Hehehehe...... . Chase is my most recent family member so I try to employ patience. Hope Mr. Gershwin is not as stubborn as Mr. Chase is. He is a gorgeous looking boy. Best wishes,
Joe

Adorable and HUGE!!!

I was wondering if Gershwin is going to be a long haired Saint or a short haired Saint. Looks like he could go either way depending on everything else. Let me know.
Thanks,
Joe

Here is Chase at four months.

They say when their pups if their fluffy they will be short haired and the not so fluffy ones will have long hair. Its the complete opposite of what you would think.Spotakis s wasnt fluffy at all,and now look at him.

Are you guys saying that when you get a Saint Bernard pup, you can't be sure whether it will grow up to be rough or smooth coated???
-
When I went to pick out my puppy I wanted a long haired one and so I was looking at the fluffy ones. The breeder said no look at the not so fluffy ones they are the ones that are long haired.Go figure?

Thanks, everyone. With regards to the long and short haired predictions, I learned all about that from the breeder (she & her husband are one of the founding breeders of Saint Bernards here in Canada for the past thirty years). We saw Gershwin's litter at four weeks of age and the breeder told us that by six weeks you can distinguish between long and short haired by looking at the hair around their ears - if it starts to go crimpy, they will be long haired. Sure enough, when we picked up Gershwin at eight weeks the ones with the crimpy hair were easy to distinguish from the short haired. But having said that, our first Saint Guinness had a very very short coat - people were constantly asking us if he was a long haired Saint that we shaved down. Gershwins mother had a very short coat like Guinness, but his father has a longer short coat if that makes any sense. And Gershwin takes after his father so his coat should be the same ( see attached pic of his father).

I head like that is just made to hug and kiss on! You guys can sure make a girl want a Saint.
