Anything Non-Dog Related / Re: Fever experience- kids
« on: May 02, 2007, 09:39:47 am »
My daughter ran a fever two seperate times,The first time we took her to ER and it 105.6,they were giving her tylenol and motrin to get it down,It did go down and we never found out what caused it.
It happened one other time with no explanation.
If she's acting normal it may just be teething,2 of my kids had the normal symptoms with teething but my 11 didn't really have any.

I could not find my husband in that list,Do they have a "lazy breed"?
I would describe him as yellow dog from the movie Funny Farm.

No,
She has the palate expander on the top, bottom braces and a fixed lingual. The last one is to keep her molars from shifting when they pull her bicuspids.

Thanks everyone for the advice,It made her feel better to know that others have gone through it and it's not going to last forever!

She's had the bottom braces in for about a month, and she's gotten used to them, but now with the palate expander she has a whole new set of problems.
Please don't believe that I actually though she would set an alarm off,But earlier I was kidding with her and told I was picking up some wierd noise on my cell,So I told her to keep backing up til it cleared up.I did let her know I was kidding.

I took my 14 yo into the orthodontist today to get her palate expander put in,She also had something put across her bottom jaw because they will be pulling 2 bottom teeth soon and they don't want her molars to move forward,My question is;is it normal for her to feel like she's having trouble swallowing?
And how long does should it take for her to talk normal?
I feel so sorry for her,she already had her bottom braces on and this is so they can put the top braces on in July.
She asked me today if she could pick up radio reception or make the alarms go of at the store.
Thanks,Jackie

I know exactly how you feel only my oldest is 14 and the youngest is 10 with an 11 year old in the middle.
Cherish everyday because it seems like yesterday my 14 yo was going to kindergarden and this fall she'll be a freshman in high school.
Plus the older they get,The older I feel!

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions,I did put one of the kids socks on her last night and she did leave it on most of the night.I'm going to try trimming the hair and then a tea bag wash.hopefully it will clear up soon.

Thanks,I forgot to mention in my first post that I wasn't sure if it was common for shaggy dogs to have this problem,
I haven't been able to trim the hair between her toes yet because hubby has been home to help distract her.

I noticed that Annabelle was chewing on her foot today and when I looked at it I saw that between her toes is inflamed,Not the entire foot just between two of them.Is this common or could she have still gotten a flea bite even though she's on flea prevention?
What's a good way of getting her to leave it alone?

There website says that it's a voluntary recall and that no one has reported any illness,
Remember the days when there wasn't a new recall EVERY week!

Connie,
Let me start by saying How sorry I am for this tragic loss.
I have lost a close family member,My little sister who was 14 died in 1995,She was healthy young girl who got a chest cold and ended up in the hospital. The doctor's were some of the best in the country and she died because of their mistakes.
My family went through all the stages of grief, but for us it did get better,We still miss her and would give anything to have her back,But we know she's in a better place.
Just know that everyone deals with grief in their own way
and don't feel there is a timeline for your pain.
I think it helped us by talking about her all the time,
We still do.Just know that your family are in my prayers.
