Well, he didn't actually backpack in this time as he broke his last backpack and we have yet to get him another one but he still gets to go.
The picture descriptions in order of appearance:
1. Bear starting the descent from the summit without us but stopping to wait
2. Finally at the upper lake and waiting patiently with my buddy Ray for a fish to bite - Bear is really starting understand the sport of fishing and the patience it takes. He will sit and wait and wait... and watch every cast..
3. Bear notices a catch my brother Mark made so he made his way over to inspect the catch.
4. This one is for Bear so he gets to check out what he's going to eat for dinner. I'm not sure what he loves more, the sport of fishing or eating fish?
5. Bear caught with Absolut Vodka??
6. A view of upper Twin Lake

Great pictures! It looks like it was a lot of fun! ;D That picture of him and the vodka reminded me of when Kallie got into my dad's whiskey, lol.
The last picture is beautiful. Excellent timing!

-

Wow, it looks so pretty there. And it looks like Bear had alot of fun. Wish I could get my hubby to go camping, I know Keiko loves it, and Gunther would learn to love it, once he saw that nothiing was going to kill him..........l ol

I want to go fishing with BEAR!
-
Oh Bear had a blast.. and I bet he does feel at home because he loves the outdoors so much. He's been up there with us so many times now he knows these woods like the back of his paw. He will lead us from the trail head all 4 miles to our favorite camp site with perfect memory. That 4 mile path includes 4 or 5 different forks, a semi-secret shortcut, and crossing several different streams, including one that is very difficult for him - he could easily swim to the other side but he has seen us cross these rolling logs so many times that he just had to learn how to do it himself. It's a blast to see him have so much fun.

What beautiful photos! Bear looks great! :)

Awesome pictures! I wanna just snuggle Bear! He looks so cuddly! Not to mention he's got great taste in alcohol! Mmmm...vodka tonics.....
We haven't taken Ranger camping yet, but I can't wait!
-
Great pics! It looks like you guys had a great time :)
-
Awesome pictures, of Bear and the fishing. I'm an avid fisherman here on The Rock and can't wait to get out again and "fool" a few fish with Angus.
-
Man, that place is beautiful.. and I hope Bava looks like that when he's grown. Josh doesn't have anything on Bear :)
-
Thanks Brandon! Bear really appreciates the compliment!
-
I don't know! Josh looks an awful lot like Bear! Infact... we have almost an identical picture somewhere to your avatar and looks exactly the same!
-
Cowboy and Chester are sad that they weren't included in the field trip. Lake Almanor can't be that far from Twin Lakes???!!!! The photos are amazing and we are WAAAAAY jealous!
-
Beautiful pictures. Bear is such a Stud. Magoo tells us when he grows up he wants to be just like Bear...
OK...maybe we are the ones telling him that and hope he is listening.
Looked like a lot of fun.
-
I think Magoo is listening well if those recent lake pics are any indication. He is gonna be a manly-Newf is I ever saw one. ;)
-
It's really pretty there!...I love the Bear nature photos!
-
wow Bear looks like he had a super weekend. The last pic is absolutely brethtaking... .. I am telling you, every time I see pics of "the other coast" I know I ended up on the wrong side lol..... It looks so much like Sweden over there, it makes me home sick and even the friggin alcohol in the pics is from my homeland :D
Bear is such a boy dog, is totally into the fishing and all ;D

He is lucky that he has you to take him to such beautiful locations. I bet he loved every minute of it there.
-
My husband would love that photo at twin lakes with the reflection in the water. What a beautiful place. I would die to fish there.
