This past weekend, it became evident that Oreo was nearing the end. The past few weeks were trying on him. His mobility became very compromised, his hair continued to fall out in clumps and he started losing control of his bodily functions. On Monday night, it was with great sadness that I had my good friend put to sleep. Now, I dread coming home to an empty house after work and getting up in the morning without him next to me. He was there every day with me for almost 9 years. The longest and best roommate I've ever had.
I know in my heart it was the best thing for him. But I don't know if my life will ever be the same.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your Oreo. I know how hard it is and my heart aches for you right now. Know you gave him the BEST life, all the love a dog could ever wish for - and you gave him the greatest gift by ending his pain for him when he could not...
I know how tough it is to come home to an empty house, it really sucks a lot. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Know that Oreo is watching over you, and is patiently waiting for that day when you'll meet again.

Oh, I'm so very sorry. You loved and cared for Oreo all of his life and you did the last loving thing that you could do for him. But I know that doesn't make your hurt any easier or the house feel less empty. I just went through that pain last year too, so I really do sympathize. Let us know if we can help. ((hugs))

Oh Jason, my heart just breaks for you - I am so sorry to hear about Oreo. He was such a special boy. I'm thinking about you and sending tons of hugs.

I'm sorry for your loss. that is the hardest thing to do, but sadly something we all go through as part of their lives. we keep them during their lives and even after their lives are no longer on Earth! they're here...in some great capacity with us Forever and Always. I believe that...and i feel that.
The empty house is tough since you're so used to the commotion and sounds of the pupper.
i hope you get through this trying time with us...we are here for you!

I am so sorry. I/we all know the feeling of the empty house. When Navarre left I would say, my house has never been so loud. And no, you will never be the same, you haven't been the same since the day you first brought him home and I'll bet you are a better person for it!

You are absoutly correct Your life has been changed by his big heart in your daily life,But your life will go on,and before long the memories of him in your life will be a blessing and the loss of him in the present will become a wonderful memory that will always be with you the rest of your life.
He is watching over you.I believe that.

I'm sure Oreo is bounding, leaping, and playing on the other side of the bridge. He had such a fulfilling life because of you.

Dear Jason,
I'm deeply deeply sorry for your loss. You did what you thought was best for him and i'm sure you made the right decision. These things are never easy but you stayed right by his side until the last second and that's what counts because right up til the last minute he knew that his buddy who he adored and loved and who loved him back all those years was right there next to him, always loving him and being there for him! You gave him the best life that you could and that's what counts. Be strong, Oreo, rest in peace big boy!

I am so sorry to hear about Oreos passing. It is never an easy decision to make. He is at peace now. They touch us in ways we would never imagine. Thinking of you at this difficult time.
