I recently sent this link to Nicki because it is sooo cool of Newfs doing what they do best- working in water. It is from Italy and this dog club filmed themselves actually practicing saving lives from jumping out of a helicopter and then on shore having fun with the dogs. As you will see they are very intense when it comes to their work and it shows through their body language. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did! These videos were really inspiring and made my eyes tear up just to know how much they help people in need.

Me too! They are so helpful and brave! If I ever get into trouble in the water I really hope they are nearby to save me.

Wow, really really impressing, every time I see working dogs that are good at what they are doing, I almost feel goose bumps. Me too Jabas.... if I ever am in trouble in the water I hope there is a newf near.

Wow! Those video clips made me so proud to be a Newfoundland owner. I can't believe how magical they are in the water. Rescuing people is really second nature to them huh? Thank you so much for that link.

No problem. I think everyone should see the movies to realize the impact these dogs can have on the water world.

Ok wow that was awesome! I had no idea they were that strong! Holy Cow now im seriously loooking into this breed. i have always admired them from afar and considered owning one. Especially when I seen in our local paper 3 legged Newf Puppy Rescued needs new home with large breeder experience. I was about to run to the rescue. Good news is someone beat me to it. Well not so good news for me but good news that he found a good home.
But tell me how serious do they shed? Our neighbor had a HUGE newf that used to greet us each time we walked by the fence in his yard. He was a chocolate color and boy was he friggin handsome!
Thank you for sharing these links. Now I must spam them to every single dog person I know. Which are like thousands of them, seriously I have thousands of people I keep in contact with and are in my address book. lol Perhaps the reason Im rarely on here.? lol

Ohhhh...made me cry...*sniff* What great video clips and such amazing dogs.
Wonder if they are worried in the helios? I do emergency transport and have to fly in the heilo's. Very loud! And the dogs ears are way more sensitive then ours.

They shed ALOT and drool ALOT but Bear is worth every broken vaccuum we have ever had! ;D

THAT WAS AWESOME!!! Newfs are such great dogs and it is so instinctive for them to want to save and help us. Drake does it all the time when we are in water with him. Gotta watch out for those thrashing paws in the water though, the nails can do a bit of damage if you're not careful!

No kidding. I just got over having my back scratched everywhere from Bear trying to save me. It hurt and looked aweful but at least I knew he was there for me! ;)

I have been scratched several times too by my poor baby. They truly are the best swimmers and lifesavers in the world.
