: Going for typical walk is getting rather annoying
: BabsT August 05, 2005, 07:49:16 AM
I mean how many people can possibly stop you to look and talk about your dog?  I dont mind most of the time but it does get annoying when you just want to go in and out quick...I now try to go 5am and 10pm lol so no one is out

I know what you mean!! We like to take our dogs for a walk down on our waterfront but there is a busker festival going on right now. We could still go down, but the dogs don't get to go out for a walk, they are more like a petting zoo! I love to be stopped by the other dog lovers who really want to talk about the dogs, but all of the others who want to tell me about my dogs or throw a typical one liner like 'that's not a dog, that's a horse', I could do with out. I guess this is our curse for being loving the giant breed dogs!

I am finding the same thing as well. It's more like going for a walk and stop, walk and stop ......
You know what I found out from at least 20 different people? That angus is going to be a big dog, big as a battleship as one guy put it. I'm glad I found that out now. lol.

Sometimes it can be annoying, but usually I don't mind when people stop us to pet zoey. She loooooves attention, so it makes her happy to meet new people, and when she is happy that makes me happy.

Happens all the time here too!
We go at 10ish and get stopped if we go earlier by "Maggie's Mom" or neighbors in their yards.  Takes an hour to go the 1 1/2 mile private drive we live on.
Oh did I mention I walk Lady and Grace at the same time...so stopping and starting is something of a pain.  :)

Normal is the epitomy of sheep...follow the crowd so as to not stand out.  Shut up and do as one is told.  Normal is boring.  Normal is attempting and trying and hiding and disguising so as to look the same and/or to be what one thinks others "wish" to be.  Any deviation from societal pseudo-norms is abnormal, strange, bizarre, weird, psycho...or in a more accurate sense interesting, unique, bold, outside the icky box, beautiful, talented, intelligent, rare, ingenius, outlandish, hilarious, honest, harrowing, and the list goes on and on...mostly involve either things society is jealous of and so condemns, and/or things those attempting ordinary mediocrity will never be and so they label them "abnormal".

Normal is a lie.  It really does not exist.  It is human-fabricated and a standard set to keep people occupied so they do not actually think for themselves.  ;D

Webster's Dictionary: First edition 1943, Copyright 1960.

Normal: ('mal), adj. according to rule; regular; perpendicular.

Hmmm...so a norm is a model or type.  The question is who decides the model or type in which to set standards and compare others?  Sounds like a bunch of "Bush'wa" to me.   ;D

I don't know if I could muzzle Lady...I want people to be comfortable around her...and her to be comfortable around her.  And it would just bother me to have to do that.   :-[
I just need to spend more time on that one issue.

Perpendicular! That's funny. What I meant is that none of us have our big babies thinking that they are going to blend in. They're special and unique and we should cherish people's interest....ev en if they're ill-informed or just plain retarded. They're interested, and that's cool.

I love the attention Bear gets and lately have found it rather funny when we walk by a tiny dog and that dog goes nuts- barking, crying, growling, etc and Bear just looks at them like "You look stupid! Nener-nener-nener!" I laugh every time and thank God my big ol' dog is a billion times better behaved than their baby.
