I just saw a news blurb on the news that said with alot of companies sales dropping PetSmart is still doing very well. There has been a drop in grooming and daycare but high sales in food and other products. Hmmmm.

Grocery stores are doing well too. You may not be able to afford a new car or that cashmere sweater you've had your eye on, but what can a new dog toy or a bit of expensive cheese hurt?
-
I just might be responsible for a big part of that. My dogs get way too many toys, treats, collars, leashes, etc and at one point had a cat, rabbit, and fish so pretty much shopped all the aisles.

Glad to hear that. Sounds like good news for my stock options....... .....lolol. ;)
I can see why their sales would remain steady, at least as far as food is concerned. Sales are probably a bit lower when talking about non necessity items, like extra beds or more doggie clothes....... .....although they are on my list for the pups for Christmas. ::)
And yeah, we've seen a drop in camp dogs and boarders thru the summer til now. But then again, a new Petsmart just opened about 2 miles down the road. We're still booked for the holidays though.

yay petsmart!!!

I bet the pet stores are doing well. Even when money is tight, I make sure Grace has food and bones and toys before I splurge on groceries for myself.

With their stocks down nearly 50% from this time last year those who like to gamble in the market may want to start buying :)

I'm sure doing my part to keep Petsmart afloat! Three puppies = lot of training so I buy a big bag of training treats every week. It also = lots of stuffy deaths so I replace them a lot. :D
