I took Tonka back to the vet this morning because there has been very little improvement in his behavior and zero improvement in his condition.
The vet believes the gastritis has become pancreatitis and has hospitalized him for test, fluids, and antibiotics. Keep those fingers and paws crossed that we have the right diagnosis and that Tonka is on his way back to health.
Thanks for all of your support and prayers!

I just got talked to the vet tech and Tonkas tests indicate pancreatitis.. ..so he is on the mend. She said seems to be feeling a little better just from the fluids and meds. He will have to stay for at least a couple of days but I could come and visit anytime.
I know that he is scared because he has pretty bad seperation anxiety, especially in strange places. I will keep everyone updated on his recovery.

it so hard when our babies are sick and away from us. But at least you have some answers and definitive treatment, and he is on the mend. Get well soon Big guy!

Heres to a fast recovery poor Tonka. We will be thinking about you. I am glad you found out what was going on with him. It is so hard sometimes the way an illness presents itself.

Just returned from a visit to Tonka. He is doing a little better thanks in part to lots of pain killers, anti-nausea meds, fluids and antibiotics. He got up when I walked into the kennel and just rubbed his big ol' head all over me. :'( I stayed with him for a while and loved on him and talked to him and it was really really hard to leave him there again, because I know he doesn't understand why he isn't home. Hopefully it will be just another couple of days before we get to bring him back home!! I miss my interior redecorator... I hardly know what to do with all of my furniture and decorations staying where they belong!
-
Awwwwwwww Breaks your heart to see them that way. :'( He'll be home and redecorating things very soon!
