I was just looking through pics of last winter at the cabin and found this one of Chester.  Hopefully it will take your minds off the heat!!!

We are going to be so thankful that you sent these by the end of the week. They are calling for temp up to 105 this weekend. You all thought Ronda complained about the heat before, just wait.

Here's a few of Zoey and Dolly's first snow. Not very good pics, but they make me feel cool just looking at them! 1st one is Dolly eating (fave hobby!) and Zoey getting ready to bug her. The 2nd is their traditional dance of the morning called "let us out of the pen!!!!!"

Some of the pictures are lovely, especially the first ones, and others remind me of how much fun snow can be.

Jack looks like he'd like nothing better than to knock the snow right back onto the sidewalk.  :o  All that snow is one of the reasons that my family moved away from Maine.

I love that first pic of Chester, it's so darn perfect! ;) "Bear in the woods" is right!!! :D

All the pics are awesome - I'm shivering!  Brrrrrrrrrrrr. ..

Do you go to the cabin year-round?  Can we come ??? ;)

Personally I dislike the snow (being cold & wet does nothing for my already sunny personality LOL  ;D), but I have to admit that right now I'd rather be freezing than dealing with this ugly, muggy heat.  >:( I know Willow would rather be cold. The poor girl is miserable. Luckily Tater is doing pretty good. He seems top really enjoy the heat.

We go as often as possible! And yes!! I'd love playmates...an d so would the Newfs!! Right now it is SOOO hot in Southern Calif. that the dogs and I would be miserable (or rather they would be miserable and I would be b!tchy!! :P).  It's still warm here, but at least it's cool at night!

I love seeing everybody else's snow pics!  Could those dogs be cuter with all the snow on their faces??

MORE snow pics, please!!!

It's going to be 105 degrees here with unbearable humidity. So here's some more to cool off with.

Here are a few of our snowy dogs!  Ah, at least the temps hit only the high 80's here in Jersey today. We have had super duper high heat and humidity the past 4 days or so.  Pups are just melting when they go out to pee!

That snow looks so good!  And the dogs all look sooo happy!!  I might have to just keep looking back at these pics all day!
Thanks, guys, for the cool thoughts!!!

: NoDogNow July 19, 2006, 11:55:12 AM
How many times do I have to tell you, it's not the HEAT, it's the HUMIDITY.

I would have no objection at all to the 95 degrees in downtown LA, if only the bloody humidity wasn't 50 percent!

Snow is of no consolation, people! Post some pictures of cacti or something, PLEASE!  Maybe I'll stop feeling slobbered-on sticky all the time...

AAACCCKKK!!  :P :P
: Re: There's a bear in the woods!!
: newflvr July 19, 2006, 01:20:31 PM
I completely understand.  If LA is supposed to be a desert, where the heck is the humidity coming from??  I HATE SUMMER!!
: Re: There's a bear in the woods!!
: brandon July 19, 2006, 01:26:09 PM
50% humidity..Baha hahahaha,..... I my that would be like a desert here.  We're lucky if we can get indoors w/ the A/C blasting down to 50% humidity.

It is running 70-90% humidity at night and 40-60% during the hottest part of the day here (in the south) and we are having one of the driest summers on record.  You're 50% would feel like a really really dry fall day here in the jungle.

PS: newflvr, that very 1st picture you posted looks like something from the front of a greeting card.  That is a great picture. Throw a sled in it and that's a perfect xmas card.

: Imani's Mom July 19, 2006, 04:12:19 PM
Upstate NY is like a tropical rainforest this summer- tons of heavy rain, flooding, and then almost 100 degrees and humidity so bad you drown if you breathe while outdoors.  The grass is growing so thick and heavy you can't get the lawnmower through it, because it rains so often it takes forever to dry out enough to mow, and just when you get ready to mow it, its storming yet again.   Great idea on this topic though, gave me some much needed smiles to see all the happy pups enjoying the snow.

LOL, she was kind of the cutest.  :)That little pink collar now doesn't even fit around her foot! She still wears a pink collar - and people still think she's a boy!

You just need to walk her with the Fumbs or Winslow you won't get anyone thinking she's a boy then. I remember whe you posted those pics the first time se is just so cute.

I'm cooler all ready!! ;)

The amazing thing, Liz, is watching Atticus move.  Between Danes and Newfs there is a wide, wide range.  Atticus is so graceful...sor t of like a Barishnikov (sp???) and Cowboy and Chester are sort of like linebakers who are a tad light in the loafers...the famous rolling gait of a Newf.   :o :o

Hard to imagine they are even the same species!!!
