Hello Georgi & welcome both you & Joey to BPO!I am happy to see another LGD on board!!...I'm Chelle & my big guys are Samson & Pippin both Great Pyrs...Pippin just turned 1 & 1/2 this past Wed. & Samson is now officially 2!...He was born July 23, 04...How old is Joey?...Does he act more Pyr like or Kuvie like?...We recently lost our Kuv mix girl but the difference in the energy level & silliness was huge between her & my Pyrs...She was such a clown & kept us laughing!...Can you post a picture of Joey?...I would really love to see him!

Thanks for the warm welcome Chelle. I'm just learning my way around the board! Joey is high energy like a Kuv but has the markings of a Pyr. I am Margaret and I am owned by Imani (2 yrs.) and Frankie(1 yr), English mastiff sisters; our rescue boy Jesse, who is just 1 yr old, brindle mastiff and maybe mixed with something else; and Maggie our 6 yr old foster mastiff. We have Sapphire, 14 mo. old Kuvasz, Gucci, 3 yr. old Eskie, Captain, 6 yr. old Pyr, and Leo, 13 mo. old Kuv/Pyr mix.
Joey looks like a handsome boy. So, he takes more after Kuvies than Pyrs? :) Leo is the opposite, very Pyr-like, except in the face.

Welcome to the family! I'm currently serving 3 danes, 1 pyr, 1 golden, 1 setter, and 1 yorkie. The last 3 aren't mine...I'm dog-sitting. And one of the danes will be going to his forever home in Aug. Your boy sure is handsome!

Of coarse he has a sense of humor!!...If ever I doubted just a little that dogs had a sense of humor that was completely gone after Rosie!...She was a mischievious little (? ;D) imp!!!...Here's one of my favorite shots of Rosie.

I so...... know what you are talking about. It is such an endearing quality. You must miss your Rosie so much. When I read your quote at the end, about waiting at the bridge, my heart turns to mush.
I always say to Joey, I rescued you, and you rescued me right back! He heals my heart and dogs have a kind of medicine you just can't buy. God bless our canine friends!

This morning I saw the picture of Rosie but I can't manage to locate it now? I was running out the door to take Joey for a walk in the forest/park before it warmed up too much and I had wanted to reply that Rosie was just beautiful and definately looked impish...very sweet. However, then one thing led to another...busy family. Thank you for sharing the photo of Rosie :)

Wow, you are lucky to have so many! I think Joey is a fine mix of Kuvasz and Pyr in the looks department but he sure has the higher energy of the Kuv. His ears are quite close to his head like a pyr and he has the markings of a pyr as you can see, but finer feet and not quite as bulky as a pyr I don't think. He sure has quite the mane about his neck...like a lion and his tail touches the ground. He weighs 100 pounds and will be two in October. Of course, I am anything but an expert! Just a dog lover!

Thanks for the welcome. I LOVE THIS SITE. Everyone is so friendly. About the question of double dewclaws, nope, Joey does not have them on his hind legs...that's a pyr trait?...others have asked me too ;D
