Or lack there-of.
I'm trying to add a signature to my posts:
Photographer
www.anneliesep ickard.com
I tried to do the website in HTML: <a href="www.anneliesep ickard.com">www.anneliesep ickard.com
It's not working, though. I'm missing something, aren't I?
It comes out as:
Photographer
d.com=something or another... It's a link, but to nothing.
I know there's a basic answer to this that I'm missing.
Thanks guys!

Okay, see that "d.com" stuff? I didn't write that (except near the end when I was explaining it). ???

You need to disable smilies. You probably already know how, but just in case:
Click on "Additional Options" between the box for typing the post and the "post" and "preview" buttons. There is a box there to check, labelled "Don't use smileys."
About the signature itself, I don't know...you tried just typing it in? There are many people here who are really good with computers and websites, so I am sure that one of them will come along to help you.

So I need to disable smilies on every post if I want to use my signature? Why, though?
Sometimes computers are very annoying! lol

That's not what I meant, although it may be correct. I hope not. Sorry about not being clear...:-[
What I was saying is that the messed up links in your first post can be corrected by modifying/editing the post and disabling the smilies.

Did you just type in the url? That's all I did with mine is type in www.dog-care-central.com and it linked it for me just fine. I didn't have to insert any html codes.

Ah, okay. I was thinking it wouldn't make sense for the signature, but if it'll clean up the post... Well, I don't know about making sense, but it makes more sense than the other way.
When I just typed it in, it did the d.com thing, but I'll try again. Maybe I was doing something else with that.

Okay, now I've got it in the little box as:
Photographer
www.anneliesep ickard.com
And it's got the d.com stuff. Sigh...
And I am going to disable smilies on this post to make sure that stuff I just typed here doesn't change, too! lol

How weird! I hope you can figure it out.
-
Okay it worked for me by just typing their addresses in for dogster. So I'd retry typing it in regularly and see if that works.
-
Maybe try using BBC codes...I tried it in my signature and it worked.
I'm going to use parenthesis but you will need to replace them with "[ ]" those kind of brackets (minus the quotes)

BTW, I love your photos on your site! I love photography and am returning back to college this semester to take photography classes. :)

I've changed it to the version, but it's still showing up funny. Thank you for the suggestion, though! And thank you for the compliments. :) Good luck with school!
