There is an old riddle that goes something like this: A father and son are in a serious car accident. They are both rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. As the surgeon enters the operating room and sees the little boy, the surgeon says, "I can't operate on this boy. This is my son."
Who is the surgeon?

The surgeon is the little boy's grandfather, which makes him the father's father.

I think the setup was a little off. Should be more complicated, I remeber there being something about the two being taken to hospitals in the opposite direction at the same time. But that one is always a good one.

yeah that's it! I remember that one! I always forget the answer to that riddle though, even though I have heard it before!

We forget the answer, even though it's a simple one. Society is constantly brainwashing us to make such assumptions.
