I want to know what everyone is passionate about (besides dogs of course, which everyone here is obsessed with).
In addition to animals, I'm also passionate about food, and all kinds of art, and helping others... I will spend hours scouring the internet for recipes, experiment with different foods as much as time will allow, and watch food network all the time. And my big splurge has always been frequently eating out. I'm also passionate about art - both admiring it and creating it. I love art of all kinds, but my favorite kinds to make myself are photography and media (film and tv), both of which I studied intensively in college. And my whole life one of my big focuses has been to help others. I have volunteered and a bunch of different non-profits, and working in special ed I feel like I make a difference in people's lives, which is very important to me.
So those are my main passions. What are yous?
-
Martial arts & fast cars.

Reading and music.

Youth hockey, (both my kids boy and girl play) riding my motorcycle, and reading almost anything printed between two covers.

Music-Listening, playing and recording. Long drives- I don't have a fancy car or anything, but the time and open road allow me to clear my mind. And my loving and caring girlfriend. She is my every inspiration. Her smile is everything to me.

besides my hubby and dog I love playing the piano. I've been playing classical piano since I was 4 and will never stop. It allows me to get lost in my own world, let out aggression, share joy and any other emotions I am feeling. I also love to read, do crafts, and quilt. I am also in the process of decorating and painting our house so that has been pretty fun and always gives me something to do on the weekends.

I like to read and crochet. NO, I am not 80, I'm only 25. I'm getting pretty good, I can follow almost any blanket pattern but mostly I just make stuff up as I go.
I like to take my dogs for walks. I love kids, I'm sure one day I will have a few of my own. But for now I have brand new nephew to torture.
Below is a picture of me and Sam and then one of my brother's Rott with the other two dogs to his left in the background

My animals are my life (&hubby too), horses have always been just about at the top of the list. I love Harley's & if it ever stops raining here I'll get to ride my new Dyna Low Rider.
My biggest passion is to figure out how I can stop working full time so that I can have time to do all that I want to do!

Oooo! Forensics. I love that subject. They have a good program here at EWU and a master's at the WSU extension. I think one instructos had worked on the "Green River Killer" case. My sister says she wants to pursue that degree. I hope she does. She'd be good at it.
As for me:
Painting/art, photography, reading - Margaret Atwood, Noam Chomsky, Albert Camus, Robert Service, Pablo Neruda, writing - short horror fiction, camping, hiking, BPO, hobo spiders, grizzly bears, dogs, poetry, culture, science, behavior, remodeling the house, gardening, research, and just being a nerd and laughing at farts. (I've found I cannot be serious all the time or I turn into an ogre).
-
Moon- grizzly bears? Who knew! I love anything ending in the word bear...brown bear, panda bear, koala bear, polar bear, black bear, grizzly bear, toy bears, stuffed bears, bear figurines, sculptures, etc. I just love them! My classroom is nicknamed the bear room because their are teddies everywhere.
I also love the snow and beach, hiking, reading conspiracy books, sleeping and being pampered.
-
Jabear - what grade do you teach?
Everyone who said reading - what are you favorite authors/genres? I love reading - I should have listed that but didn't think of it. I read about a book a week, and my favorites books are fictions that incorporate humor (authors like Nick Hornby, Dave Sedaris, or Christopher Moore ) and nonfiction books about quirky subjects (books like Word Freak, which is about competative scrabble players, or Bringing down the house which is the story of a group of MIT kids that went from innocent kids to stealthy card-counters)

Tina, I can't wait for the new Harry Potter book either. Call me immature! I love to read just about anything and everything! I read voraciously, and I read pretty quickly so I can tear through a whole lotta books in a week!
A book that I absolutely LOVE and recommend to everybody is "Carter Beats the Devil" by Glen Gold. It is a fictional account of Carter the Great, a magician in the 1920's. (Carter actually was a real magician, but the story is made up.) It has murder, romance, magic tricks, and a lion named Baby in it - what is not to love? It is a wonderful book...

I absolutely LOVE to cook.
Books. Love to read. I like political science stuff, and good, funny novels. I absolutely LOVE Tom Robbins. He CRACKS my @ss up! He is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO O funny! (Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, Half-asleep in Frog Pajamas, Jitterbug Perfume, they're all great!)
My daughter, my boyfriend. Oh, and there is this little stray kitty hanging out in my yard that I'm fierce about! hahah! I yell at my cats when they try and bully him!
