Well, I picked up Polar this evening. And I am glad I did. He has been terribly neglected. He is just skin and bones. I can see his rib and hip bones. He is skittish like he has been abused. He was dirty and smelled like oils and gas. He has scratches all over his face from the other dogs. When we got into the hotel room - I turned on the TV and he freaked. I don't ever think he has seen a TV. But he is such a sweet baby - loves to cuddle and give kisses. So he has had a bath and is sleeping on the bed...things are looking up for Polar.

I'm so glad that you and Polar found each other. He is one lucky puppy to have made his way into a wonderful loving home. Best of luck with the little guy!!! :D Please share stories with us! I hope to adopt a deafie someday too, so I am interested in finding out what it's like!! :)

Its wonderful that he found you!
I'm with the others...we need some pics of that cutie!
-
Congrats!! I'm so glad you have him, doesn't sound like he was treated to well. :( Can't wait to see pics of that gorgeous boy!

Did it turn out that he is deaf? Some of that skittishness might be due to being unable to process new things as quickly as a hearing dog. Your gentle touch with lots of treats will have to substitute for a calming voice. I'm so glad you have him! I hope he settles in well and you can get him feeling a bit better soon!

Congrats on the new guy. It is great to know that he is now in a loving home where he will be taken care of and feed properly. I really look forward to pictures.

Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes. Yes, He is Deaf. The skittishness is much better today. We are just taking it easy. He really is a good boy and he and Willow have done nothing but run and wrestle all day. They are very cute but destructive!!
-
Taking it easy is the best way. I'm sooo glad they are getting along well! Hopefully they'll work some of the wiggles out of each other and slow down a bit in their destruction! LOL! Meanwhile, batton down the hatches and hang on for the ride!
