Gus has been missing since Saturday night. :( I came home from work, took him out to go potty. He went around the corner to go poop like he has been doig for months now, and I havent seen him since. I KNOW he didnt run away, he just wouldnt do that. I looked all over, drove all over and called him for two straight hours. Ive put up fliers and out an ad in the paper, called the pound, all the vets in my area. He just disappeared. I am positive that someone has him. I jsut dont know what to do. Im so worried, Im not sleeping. I know all of you know how I feel. Gus is my child, my best friend, and the only constant thing in my life for almost 3 years now. I miss him so much. Guys, I am lost without him, and I dont know what Ill do if I dont get him back. Any suggestions or love you can give would be great. Thanks everyone. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

HOW AWFUL! You must be frantic! That's a great suggestion to also post the schools. Started me thinking that perhaps you should post the University & do some snooping around there as well. (It is in your town isn't it?) I don't know if Petfinder posts lost pets anymore, but I think they do.
Good luck finding your sweet GusGus! You're in my thoughts and prayers. And we'll be keeping our fingers and paws crossed for you as well.

Thanks guys. It just happened so quick. Gus has never needed to be leashed and I know that he would come back to me if he could. He just cant stay away from me like that. He wouldnt. I just hope he is safe and God forbid I dont get him back, he is taken care of. Oh God, I want him back so bad. I keep going to give him a treat or fill up his water bowl or call him and hes not there. Im having to take medicine Im so upset about it Im freaking out.

lets all try to stay positive and hope that someone saw him and thought he was lost, and were trying to be nice and save him. he sounds like such a sweet dog, i know i couldn't resist bringing him home if i thought he was lost. again, best of luck finding him!

I hope you get good news soon.I can't and don't even want to imagine what you are going thru.
But follow up on what Jenn said, about the shelters and go yourself every day.and post in every vet and pet store in your area.

Try contacting any local radio stations in your area to see if they will get the word out about Gus missing.Lots of postive thoughts and prayers coming your way

Thanks guys. Im so sad. I just dont know what to do. Gus is such a wonderful dog, anyone would love to have him. BUt damnit, hes mine.!! I thought I would have him until one of us dies. Hes such a huge prt of my life. Ive cried on him, slept with him, done everything with him. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers guys. I hope I just get lucky...my aunt said that odds are Ill never see him again. Well, I refuse to believe it. He has to come back. :'(

Oh I'm so very sorry :'( I'll be praying for his safe return ! Did you put on the flyers "REWARD" ?? That should really get people's attention , even if you don't have much money , $25 is still a reward ! Just don't specify how much . And keep checking those shelters !

Thats exactly what I did actually. I put "Reward if Found" but I didnt specify and amnount. I figured that would work. Its like he fell off the face of the Earth. He's just nowhere...

Don't give up.
I lost one of my huskies on a camping trip in the mountains many years ago. I had to come home without her. The next day I drove up to the little mountain town and put up flyers EVERYWHERE. I went up every other day and looked for her in the woods and called her name. She had been gone a week when someone called me saying they had seen her. I drove back up to the mountains to the place the lady had seen her. My dog was there, and she was fine. It felt like a miracle.
Just don't give up. Keep checking the pound. See if you can get something announced on the radio too.

Oh no. I am so sorry. However, this happened w/my father's cat recently. She just disappeared. My Dad walked all around the neighborhood daily and told anyone he met that he was missing a cat. He especially spoke to children and the mailman (they're out and about more than anyone else). Three days after the cat went missing, people from a few neighborhoods over were coming to my Dad's to report sightings! The cat came home one week to the hour she went missing!
So there is definitely hope. Do talk to the mailmen/women in the area- they will probably notice if someone has a new dog. You and Gus are in my thoughts.

such a good idea about the mail people! ours here are lazy, and i never even thought about that idea! good going! maybe you could give this a try. we did it when our pitbull got stolen but it never led to his return :( maybe you'd have better luck since gus was lost. there are also a TON of other sites like this.

Than You all so much for the support. I have called everywhere, gone to eveery shelter and vet in the area and asked everyone I have seen. I will put a flyer at the local dog park also. Noone has been there because of the weather, but Ill do that today when I get off work. i just dont know what to do. I have done everything can think of. What am I suppose to d without my boy? Im beside myself....God please just let him come home to me. I miss him so much. I havent moved any of his stuff...its so sad I keep going to call him or take him out and hes not there. My sweet Gus...I hope he is safe wherever he is.

I forgot to mention this...his flier has the same picture that is on my avatar so its a great picture of him where you can see all of his markings..and that big smile on his face. He unfortunaltey did not have his collar on him..somehitng I will NEVER forgive myself for.

I am so sorry to hear about Gus. I am sure you have thought of this already but our local newspaper has a section for pets that have been found the regular paper charges a small amount for the ads and the pennysaver and shopping bag papers run those ads for free.
I can't imagine what you are going thru - I wish with all my heart that Gus finds his way back to you ASAP. I will be thinking and praying for you and Gus
