On April 3rd, just shy of her first birthday, Petunia went to the bridge.  She had started vomiting blood and when taken to the vet, we discovered she had several tumors in her stomach.  Further testing revealed stomach cancer.  Not wanting her to suffer, she was let go.  I believe she is now playing with my twin son and daughter who would soon be turning five years old.  Who knows, maybe she was meant to be their birthday gift.  That's the way I am looking at this tragedy.  Happy Birthday my sweet babies.....

Oh Mel , I am so very sorry for your loss , I'm praying for you  :'( I think that is a wonderful way of looking at it though , a wonderful birthday present for your angel twins !

Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and love.  I will never forget that sweet, loving face.  I just hope that I gave her the best life she could have had.

I am sooo sorry!  It is never long enough, I know, but 1 is just so young. I'll never forget being told that my not-yet 3 year old Pyr had terminal cancer and feeling like I just couldn't comprehend that, so I'm really sad for you. :'(

I'm sure that you gave her the best possible life and the most loving and gentle way to find the bridge.  She was blessed that you loved her so much and made her comfort your highest priority.  I'm sure that your twins adore her.  You are in my prayers.

Aw Mel it broke my heart to read your post. I am so sorry. Gosh I can remember when everyone was looking for a puppy for you ;) You were both blessed to find each other. Even though it was a short time she will be in your heart forever.
