We have had a tough weekend with Zoey and had to take her to the emergency room today on our vet's advice. We are still not sure what is going on, but it looks like she has something wrong with her neurological system :-[
For a while now she has been chattering her teeth and we thought it was just anxiety or nervousness, but now the doctor tells us that she has been having something called facial focal seizures. We are meeting with the neurologist on thursday to see what's next. Cross your fingers and paws for us :-\
-
*hugs* for both you and zoey!!!! Sending good vibes your way!
-
Oh My God! Definately keeping our paws crossed for Zoey!!!!
-
All my fingers crossed, and paws too, poor Zoey, i'm sorry. But hopefully veterinary technology has come SO far they will be able to give you some peace of mind. There are all sorts of meds and options out there.

I'm so sorry to hear about Zoey! Our vet's two Saints both have seizures and but they were genetically predisposed. Make sure they check for tick disease esp antiplasma as that's what set off Tyler's seizures. Good luck at the vets. I'll be keeping Zoey in my thoughts.

You and Zoey are in our thoughts. Sending lots of well wishes to Miss Zoey and comforting thoughts to you. Hang in there and please keep us posted.

I know from experience how difficult and scary this is. Know that you are not alone.
The best thing you can do for Zoey is to educate yourself. Here is a link to the K9 Epi Resource website. You will find a wealth of information and support.

Smoochies and hugs to Zoey from the entire crew here- I wish you guys the best and we are thinking of you.

A friend of mine had a Berner who I think had these same type of seizures. "Flybitting" I believe it was called? He was on medication his whole life and lived to be 11yrs. Wishing you lots of luck with Zoey... I understand how hard it can be. Luckily Tenchi's are only every 6months or so, but even those are heartwrenching .
-
Big hugs to you and Zoey. Sending lots of good thoughts your way.
-

We just got back from the neurologist. He says that he doesn't think that she is having seizures after all (I swear every vet I talk to tells me somehting different), but he does think that she has something neurologically 'off' about her because of the way she is walking (she is a little unstable and lifts her front legs very high, and also frequently walks looking up, which is apparently abnormal). He has advised us to keep a log for the next month and check back in.
I consider it great news that he didn't think it was as bad as the other vet did
-
Yeah! I am so happy and relieved Heather. Great news.
-
Oh Heather that's great news, nice to have a more positive outlook for sure! So glad to hear this!
