So, my Berner/Aussie mix pup is 12 weeks old, and we've had him since he was 8 weeks. He barfs in the car when I take him out, which I try to do about once a week - some call it socialization, but I call it showing him off! Anyway, I keep taking him out thinking that I'm getting him used to the car, but am I just torturing the poor little dude?

Remy has a lot of problems with the car too, here is a board about that. There are some really great suggestions, everybody here is very helpful! Does he hate the care or does he just vomit in it?

He doesn't hate it - he likes to snuggle and lay his head on my leg. He just barfs, then snoozes. He's just a baby, though, so I was hoping that I was desensitizing him. I'll check out the link - thank you!

Your welcome. Remy really hates the car, unless he's on my lap, which will be a problem when he's full grown, because at this point when he's still a puppy it's too painful for me (JRA and Fibromyalgia). Gravol would probably help his tummy. You vet can tell you his proper dosage.

Lola used to puke AND poop everytime we took her anywhere. GAG! Yet she LOVED going for rides. She's a weirdo. Luckily she did outgrow it.. and just in time too. Hubby was about to banish her from the truck. LOL

Ugh...puke AND poop - I don't think I could handle that double whammy! Luckily, mine's just a puker. And, he's kind enough to clean up after himself! I know...EEEEEWW WWW! :P
