Alright everyone. Christmas is quickly approaching us! To bring more happiness to the holidays and share love with your favorite online buddies we are going to have the 3rd annual BPO Christmas Exchange of Gifts, Cards, or both.
Here are the rules. The limit for the presents is $20 and the gift must be for the dog(s). I know however, that finances can limit what we do for others from time to time. If that is the case, you can opt to just send out cards.
Last year, we did both and Christmas was so fun and hairy. :)
If you want in, which I hope you do, here is what you need to do.
1. Email me, jabear@gmail.com, with the following information:
a) Real Name, Username, and home address
b) Which part of the exchange you want to participate in: just gifts, just cards, or both
c) Your dog's age and gender
d) Your dog's favorite color
e) Your dog's favorite treat
f) Your dog's favorite kind of toy
g) One thing your dog would love to receive
You have between now and November 18 to get your information to me. All presents/cards must be mailed out NO LATER than December 8, 2007.

Age: 8 years
Fave Color : Uh, red complements his furtone nicely
Loves: Nylabones, Wing-a-Ling, Bully Stix (Cabeza doesn't really play with toys)
Dog #2: Mabel, a stately lady
Age: 11 wisened years
Colors: Chocolate brown complements her fur-tone nicely
Loves: Wing-a-Ling, Somtimes Bully Stix
Mabel is a sweet old girl that is battling lymphoma. She doesn't really play or chew. She just likes num-nums. She LOVES LOVES LOVES the Merrick Summer Sausages, though.

This thread is cracking me up. It reminds me of the anxiety the kids have as they have to wait to open presents until AFTER the holiday dinner. Everyone is always so giddy and excited.. It's really funny. I'm super excited to be a part of the BPO Holiday gift exchange.

Now as a fairly new BPO'er, can someone explain exactly how this works? Is it a Secret Santa kind of thing, or do we know who our recipient(s) are?

Just put miss Libby's name on for both ~ last year being one of the 'newbies' it was sooo much fun, and a great chance to meet the members in the chat opening... but OMG it goes fast so grab a drinky or 2 and jump in when you can ;D

I was telling my husband about this while I was getting the email ready to send with the pup's info ... he thinks we're all doggy crazy. ;D About the cards - do you just make your own off your puter? or maybe just insert your doggy's pictures in a card? ... *laffin* I'm excited and I'd really like to know what type of glue you use to have all your dogs sit in one picture taking area at once? ???

Time to start looking for some good cards - and trying to get a picture of Harley where he actually has eyes!!
For the first time people (this is only my second year) this would be a good time to start learning to type fast - I've never seen messages fly so quickly as when we were in the chat room when the pups opened their gifts it was such fun!

I've only done the gift exchange in the past because I can't be trusted to mail out Christmas cards. I can't tell you how many times I have bought, addressed, and even stamped Christmas cards, only to forget to mail them. I'm counting on you guys to help me remember through my senility. ;D

The only reason my Christmas cards got out on time last year was because of BPO!!!! I sent them all out at the same time. I have 3 windows in the front of my house and I placed a red ribbon down the middle of each window last year and hung the cards on them and still had a ton for the mantle and entertainment center!! AND Daphne's present was the first present under the tree!

We're in, too! :) We had so much fun last year and our girls LOVED getting all the cute photo cards of the Big Paws. :)(So did I). :)

Secret Santa is awsome. i don't know who likes it more...me or Grace. she gets such a kick out of getting her package. and i love getting and sending out the cards. i'll have to take a break from vacation tomorrow to get Grace's info in to the Bear Meister and Jamie

HAHAHA! Sorry! Wing-a-Ling is a variety of Merrick canned dog food. It has whole chicken wings right in it! Since its cooked in the can, the bones are soft like they are in canned salmon.

i'll never forget him...he was the most suave pupper at the meet n greet. he is just a major fabio and he knows it. he was like PePe LePew...except he didn't stink and no one wanted to run from him.

Just wanted to say to everyone involved with this one...ENJOY!!! ;) I did it last year and it was a BLAST!!! ;D ;D ;D
Unfortunately, this year I just have too much on the go with my recovery and getting things settled for my Mom, I don't think it would be fair for me to commit in case I can't get every card sent...but I hope everyone has a great time! :) I LOVED going to the mail each day with Kate to find a new card (or cards), it was soooooo fun!!! ;)

Ohhhh!! That reminds me, I've got to get the pups together for a good Chrismas picture. I was thinking a Santa hat for Naja and a single reindeer antler like in the Grinch who stole Christmas for Moo! Hee hee hee!!! I'm getting all excited. ;D

I'm SO SORRY EVERYONE, but I'm going to have to back-out of this this year :'( :-\ :-*
I feel like a total shmuck for signing up then backing out, but I didn't take into account the postage costs on top of the card cost and gift cost (and with most members living in the US, and 43 people signed up already) it's going to be pricey. Not that I don't think it's worth it, I totally do...but I'm on mat leave, and we're partially supporting my Mom right now, and just can't afford it... :'(
Eric's brother is playing hockey in New York this year and we both really want to take a trip there, it is RIDICULOUSLY expensive though, so we're saving up BIG TIME. We haven't taken a trip anywhere in years so we really, really want to go. Every cent we don't need to spend is going into that fund... :-\
I know I will totally be missing out, not to mention how much I'll miss going to the mailbox to get cards...but I just can't do it this year... :P You all mean SO MUCH to me and all of your support this year is something that I hold dearly to my heart! :-*

I just checked my email and got the card list! I can't believe how excited I am! I was hoping to get a picture in front of the tree, but I can guarantee we won't get our act together enough to have a tree up in time for me to get the cards together and out by Dec 8. I have grand plans and the best intentions, but I know myself all too well. LOL!
I don't know if I'm more excited about sending the cards or getting them!
The next issue is figuring out how to make Sierra look festive for the holidays AND have her cooperate at the same time. I think I'm asking a little too much with that one...

Mallory and I wanted to thank Cooper and Isis for the wonderful gifts and gift card. I took pictures of her opening her Christmas package, but my computer is acting up so I'll have to upload them later.

Oh my gosh! I'm sooo excited about SS!! I just got home last night from visiting my mom and I saw the box from my secret santa in the living room. I went to hide it real quick before Miles went to rip the box to shreds ::) That way he doesn't even know he has something. ;) It'll be a REAL big surprise tomorrow!! Woo hoo!

Cirra's package has arrived and we plan to open her present tomorrow evening with everyone else. Cirra will be thrilled for a game of opening a package. She has been stuck inside since we had eight inches of snow and then rain last Sunday. Now we have ice, ice and more ice. Our camera is ready.

Sierra has had me stalking the post office for the last week looking for her SS gift and fianlly it came yesterday! I tried to explain that she had until the 20th, but she didn't want to hear it. She's so impatient!! LOL! ;D
I can't wait to see what she got! I put it under the tree with the rest of her presents and she's been sniffing at it. She definitely knows it's hers.
I've already made it clear to the kids that the computer is mine at 8:00 tomorrow night. They think I'm crazy, but I don't care!! LOL!
