My wife and I just joined big paws. We have been viewing your all posts for weeks now waiting for the arrival of our first dog. We finally got Dyson on July 23 and we are so happy. We just wanted to say thanks for all the information we have obtained by reading the discussions.

Congratulation s on your new baby and I absolutely love his markings! You will be amazed at the unbelievable tempermant of the Pyrs; gently , docile, big, huge lap dogs. However, they are diligent at their work ethic and are loyal, extremely devoted, and protective of their property and family, both 2 and 4 legged. May he bring you many, many years of smiles, love and laughter! Enjoy!

Ok, that's it! The next person that posts a ridiculously ADORABLE puppy pic on here is going to be TOAST! Do you hear me? TOAST! I'm so jealous! I WANT A PUPPY!
I've rescued zillions and zillions of adult and adolescent dogs, but haven't ever gotten to do a pup of my own from scratch. Don't I deserve that opportunity??? Come on, BPOers, organize an intervention. Come on over to Indiana Corn Country and tickle my boyfriend til he gives in. And bring all the cute pups with ya so he's so cuted out he can't even stand it.

Nicole - we can come do a cute puppy intervention for him!Â
First we will talk about how much a puppy would add to your lives, how much Cabeza would like it, how happy it would make you, etc. Then, we show him a bunch of pictures of puppies. Then we will bring the real puppies in one at a time and he can at first just look at them from across the room. Then he can slowly work up to touching them, holding them, etc. Finally he will end up flat on floor mobbed by licking puppies. And just to cap it off we will bring in a couple of really badly behaved older dogs that will totally highlight the difference between themselves and the sweet, friendly, willing-to-learn puppies!Â
After that he won't be able to say no!Â

Sounds PERFECT grumpy! Its exactly what we need! But you have to be prepared for his litany of excuses. He can counter ANY good point made on why we should have a pup. He's good. He's a worthy opponent. You all will have to be very prepared.

We are ready for the challenge, and will break him slowly with our secret weapon - the scent of puppy breath.

Everytime I see a puppy and I think that I want one, I remember, the sleepless nights the sceaming cuz he didn't want to go in his den and sleep, the potty training..... then that usually cures it, but I already have 2 dogs, I don't think I can handle anymore.... And I still have a puppy, he is 7 months of pure energy right now.

Grumpy's in charge! Mark does NOT need to be reminded of those things...and since he's NEVER had a pup, he doesn't even KNOW about them! hahahaha! They can be OUR little secrets. Besides, its not like he would deal with them. I'm the poop scoop around here.

LOL sorry, I jsut say that to myself because I have 2 dogs already and if I don't then I will get another one!! Dilbert was worth all the sleepless nights though, and it's funny because you tend to forget about them too. Probably cuz they are sooo cute and fuzzy wazzy smooshy woooshy....ok I have been lost to the dark side..... I want a puppy again......

I've been booted from the intervention! :) I could stand outside and play with the puppy and I promise not to even say a word...just play with the puppy. Then I'll send the puppy home with Daddy and go home and nap with my almost unpuppies.

I have to say it's been easier raising him than expected so far (knock on wood). There is not much difference between him and our 14 month daughter (Katelyn).

Ok, Ok. You're both back in! hehehehehe! JUST KEEP YOUR MOUTHS SHUT! Play with the puppies and ENJOY THEM! I mean, REALLY ENJOY THEM! Make it seem as if there is nothing better in the entire world than puppies!

I adore my son. Madly in love with him! Wouldn't give him up for the world!
BUT... if I had gotten a puppy before I had him, I probably would have stuck with puppies! About the same amount of work, but you don't have to pay for college! And you can get a puppy fixed and not have to worry about them breeding before they're old enough! LOL
But seriously, children are amazing. Have one. Only one. Then get lots of puppies!

Everyonce in a while I get into baby Mode. Usually sparked by an adorable baby, or a tiny outfit, or most recently and ADORABLE pair of mini baseball cleats. Matt stops this by buying me something, so it works out on all accounts. Seriously though I want a baby SOOOOOOOO bad. Maybe I'll just pacify myself with another puppy......... .

Ohhhhh MyDyson, that puppy is one of the cutest little kiss magnets I have seen in a long time, well hehe I fall in love with all puppies. But he is adorable, what a face and the markings are wonderful. The daughter is a doll too. Welcome to BPO, since you have been checking in on us, you know that we love lots of posts and lots of pics and whatever you need to ask, just ask away. I was glad to hear that the "board" had been of help to you guys.
And Nicole, I want in on the puppy thingie, hmmmm not so sure about the babie one though, But I can show you how your belly looks after 4 c-secs, and then we might not need a baby thingie lol....

Nicole I am in with you on the puppy intervention but forget the human baby intervention. I AM NOT ready for that one at all. I got a tiny bit of "aw, how fun to have a baby" when the twins were over and it was ONLY because they were soooooo cute with Bear. He is the absolute bestest baby-dog lover in the world! Awww...then I got over it and was like, "you know, 10 dogs would be fine with me!" ;D
My Dyson, that is one of the cutests puppies ever! He has now officially been added to the kidnapp list floating around BPO. :D

Thank you to everyone who said my son looks like me!! Since birth he has been a clone of his dad and just in the past year or so people have started saying he looks like me!! You carry a kid for 9 AND A HALF months, the least he could do is look something like you!!!
If Finn starts to look like me, please tell me so I can have some work done!!

I want to know just how serious can one be about a man thaat says "NO" to a puppy? Ditch the guy and have a whole herd of puppies! You could start fostering just puppies! Then you would be too busy, and too happy to worry about anything you might miss from a guy! :o
Anyway, welcome Dyson. He is absolutely perfect. Best wishes to the new parents.

MyDyson is a beautifully marked little boy!...I don't remember seeing markings quite like his...I hope he keeps them & doesn't lose them when he gets in his adult coat!!!

My husband had the "not till we buy a house" rule too. He is a firm believer in "till death do you part" when it comes to fur babies, so he wanted to make sure there would be no chance we would have to move and not find a place that would accept them. We wouldn't give them up, we'd end up living in our tent! So I agreed to wait till we had our own house, and now we have 3 dogs, 2 cats and a fish. No more dogs till we buy or build a bigger house.

Thanks to all who gave Dyson a bunch of compliments. All of you have some great looking dogs. I think that is why I love this site so much. I just love the pictures. I just never knew there were so many "BIG" dogs out there.

I agree with you MyDyson, we have such a great bunch of both people and dogs here. Give your cute baby a big hug from me and tell him that if he ever needs a babysitter Im it lol....
