: NAme for my Baby
: amberdoggoneit February 13, 2008, 02:26:08 PM
I need help in finding the perfect name for my little girl that will be here  soon.  The middle name is going to Elizabeth after my grandmother.  But I really like unusual first names not really popular ones.

I also like diffent spellings.  So does anyone have any ideas? ;D

My name is Sadie, which I love because it isn't too obscure or tricky, and people can pronounce it, yet I've met VERY few other people named Sadie. I was named after my great grandmother, and I tend to like old-fashioned names, although many of these are coming back into vogue. Here are a few I like: Grace, Eva, Viola, Amelia, Charlotte, Lila, Lisette, Susannah, Vivian.

Suzannah is a cool name.  those southern names are coming back you know.

and i'm all about Grace as a name.

Payton is such a simple name...kinda girly but strong.  and it's not always a football name.  but it's a plus if Daddy likes it.

Middle names might be a pain though.

Payton Grace
Payton Michelle
Payton Suzanna
Payton Clair
Payton Elizabeth

I have always loved the name Peyton for a girl ever since the movie "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle".  Even though she was a psycho killer in the movie... LOL!

I like feminine sounding names:

Jessica
Melissa
Simone (my mother's and grandmother's names)
Aubrie
Stephanie (okay, I'm biased because that's my name, but I like it!)

Well, I like some of the names that have been mentioned. I've thought alot about this because I'm pregnant, too! We're having a boy, though.

I like:

Violette
Claira
Carys (Welsh, it means "love" and will be our next kids name if we have a girl, its pronounced Care-iss)
Josephine
Amelia
Giselle

I'm not a fan of unusual spellings, so I can't help you there!

Two unique names I like for a baby girl:

Ayda (eh-duh)

Ariana (are-eeee-ahhh-na)

Good Luck finding the perfect name!

P.S. Both Ayda and Ariana sound great with Elizabeth as the middle name ;) ;)

Well we decided on her name (I think)

Peyton Nicole McClarren

We were having some family jealousy issues with Elizabeth and I think  that Nicole sounds much better with Peyton.

I also like Teagan Nicole McClarren considering as you can tell by our last name we are Irish and Teagan is a very Irish name.  but hubby still loves Peyton so most likely that is what it will be ;D

Peyton Nicole...that's a lovely combination.

Tell you what.  if she decides she doesn't like it, I'll trade her.

I hear ya! I agonized over every one of my kids' names. Well, except my step-son's - he came named already! It is HUGE! I think your choice is excellent. It's a name you can imagine on a baby and a kid, but also a name that a grown woman can carry proudly.

: GoldenPyrs February 16, 2008, 10:46:01 PM
I love that name, nice choice!  I agree that it's tough!  We have 3 boys and with 2 of them we didn't know their gender until birth, so we picked out names for both boys & girls.  My criteria for a good girl name was that it had to look good on a business card.   ;)  ;D
: Re: NAme for my Baby
: Ali February 17, 2008, 07:51:38 AM
YES - that's it! My criteria for naming is that it had to fit a kid, but also fit a lawyer or a doctor - something ultra professional. Classy, yet playful. I went with Jamie Victoria for my daughter, and my sons are Mason Daniel and Jackson Scott.  ;D

That is like I told my mom.  She was saying that she couldnt imagine certain names on a baby becuase they sounded to much for an adult.  But I told her that they would be an adult for longer than they would be a child.

That is so true!  Because one day you are pregnant, the next day they're 15!  At least it seems that way to me.  My mom's advice for a good baby girl name was to think about how it would look on a wedding invitation and that's a point (I guess) but I was more interested in how it would work in the corporate world.  But then that is just how different my life has been from my mom's.   ;)  ;D  It will be interesting to see how different our children's lives will be from ours, too.

Are you having cravings?  I craved strawberries, watermelon, cucumbers & waffles.  Funny!
: Re: NAme for my Baby
: amberdoggoneit February 17, 2008, 03:45:31 PM
Well the only thing that I eat almost everyday is strawberries, but I will eat any fruit that I can.  I dont really crave it though.  If we have it we have it but if we dont then I dont make my husband go in the middle of the night and find any.

Ohh! Nice name! Congrats on the decision, although if you are anything like us, you will change your mind several times.

We still haven't completely agreed on a name.

I don't remember my hubby having any late night trips out, either but maybe that's just my selective memory.  I'll have to ask him.  I used to go to lunch a lot at this place with a great salad bar that always had a huge bowl of strawberries.  My salad would be 75% strawberries.   ;)  :-[  ;D  It was always a little embarrassing when one of the employees would look at my plate & then glance at my stomach.  Yep, preggo lady w/cravings!  ::)  ;D  LOL!  Still, it was better than the triple layer chocolate cake that I had 3 or 4 times that last month before my youngest son was born.  I don't know if it had anything to do with it, but that child still loves chocolate!

hahhaha! My hubby hasn't endured any late-night craving expeditions. And, I'm almost done. So, I'd say he's gotten off pretty lucky. He also hasn't endured any vomiting or anything else too weird. I haven't gotten any *new* stretch marks, though my old ones from Molly are becoming more apparant than they were...my husband is lucky!

love all of those names.
My husband cant get off of Payton.  He loves it but that is becasue he is a fan of Payton Manning!!!! ;D

hehe. we are major fans of Peyton too! hense our puppy's name. I like it for a girl name, ONLY because it's not REALLY naming her after Peyton Manning. It's different because of the whole girl thing. I like the name Shana (pronounced Shawna). It is my name. It is Hawaiian vowels, but to through people off, there is no SH in the hawaiian language. :) I also really like Sterling Elizabeth.
