: Safe to feed starved dogs Satin Balls?
: horsepoor21 March 01, 2008, 12:23:47 AM
I have a quick question . My sister just rescued two dogs , an Aussie and a Red Tick Hound . They are VERY skinny , enough so that she can touch her hands around their wastes  :'(

I wondered if it would be okay to feed them Satin Balls along with their kibble ? If it is okay , how much to start them on ? Maybe just half a ball a day or so ? Working up to 1 or 1 & 1/2 a day ?

Thankyou so much in advance !

Thankyou so much for your help ! I will let my sis' know it's a no go .

The dogs actually belong to a friend of a friend of her's . This woman's husband has been in Iraq for nine months are she's mad at him .....so , she did this to the dogs and also a horse ....  :-\ My sis' and her friend took the animals when the woman wasn't home ....so when her hubby gets back , I guess there might be some problems and they might have to give the animals back ? I'm not sure yet ....he gets back at the end of March . I'll keep ya'll updated .

I don't have the dogs here , I'm in SD and my sis is in KS .

It's all kind of complicated , as my sister's friend has been best friend's with this abuser's husband for like 20 years or something . And the husband loves these animals ,I'm sure he has no idea all this has been going on . So he's hoping the guy will do something about the wife when he gets back and finds out .

And since they stole the animals ....that doesn't help much either .I wish my sis would have just called animal control . I know she's taken quite a few photos and videos though ,so that is good .

This woman needs some serious therapy! :-\
Thanks to your sister for rescuing those pups!  This is a very tragic story.  I agree with everyone else about NEVER letting those animals back to that woman.  Her poor husband...what a kook!  :-\
