HI, MY NAME IS DEDE. I WORK FOR THE CITY OF BENTON, AR ANIMAL CONTROL. WE GET LARGE BREED DOGS IN HERE CONSTANTLY. THE SAD FACT IS THAT NOBODY SEEMS TO WANT LG. DOGS. LIKE NOW, WE HAVE A GR. PYRENEESE-MALE-2 YRS. OLD. HE IS HUGE. THAT'S WHY NOBODY WANTS HIM. DOES ANYBODY KNOW SOMEONE WHO WOULD GIVE THIS BABY A VERY GOOD HOME? PLEASE E-MAIL ME OR CALL. THE PHONO HERE IS 501-776-5972. WE ARE OPEN MON-FRI 8:00AM TO 5:00PM. HE IS SCHEDULED TO BE EUTHANIZED ON 3-27-08 PLEASE HELP!!!

Bless you, Jane! I just sent this to a Pyr friend of mine in southern MO to see if she can help, too. Hopefully someone can pull this poor boy. It just breaks my heart!
Dede, if you are reading this...are you able to delay his PTS date at all? If so, I'm sure that we can find someone in the area that can help him. I just hope that they are in time! Thank you for caring & for posting this so that we can try to help him.

We need a little more time- someone buy some time- I am not sure exactly what to do - but I have some ideas- but we need more than 24 hours. I can not take off this week to go to Arkansas but maybe we can buy some time and then I can get a foster and get transport???
I can work small miracles if I have just a little bit more notice, it really is possible.
SO you guys keep calling- I am going to start working from this end. Jane you have my phone number- anyone else wanting my phone number email me.
Say a prayer guys we can do this.

I was just about to dial myself. Paige is on the Trail now too. I'm hoping against hope that if they know someone is trying to get him pulled they'll hold off. There was someone interested but they were thinking it was Benton AZ.

I just sent an email - I have asked for more time- also asked for some specifics- I wonder if he has a picture posted some where?
Gosh this is so hard to keep up with sometimes but everytime that I save one of these guys and get to hold them and hug them, I KNOW that I have done the right thing.
I hope that we can save him or that someone will please step up - some one a little closer to Bentonville than myself. And I have shot the email to all of my Pyrenees contacts. Say a prayer.

I just called the shelter and let them know that we're all working on a solution and to please, please hold off. I'm definitely praying, too. Can you think of anything else that we can do to help? I hate that I'm so far away.....

I called too. Wish I could get a live person but I left a plea and I'll call again as soon as they open. Hoping that Central will step in. Paige, I mailed them too.
I also saw a Pyr/Golden in Little Rock on Petfinder listed as LOST. Emailed them too just in case it could be the same fellow who is on Death Row.

Update, we possibly have someone in the area that can foster for a few days - that means that we are really going to have to work even harder to get him into a rescue or permanent home- I am working on the solution here- and I am waiting for some responses. It would be nice to know if he is an escape artist and if he is good with small dogs because I pretty much have a place for him if he doesnt have one of those bad habits-
If anyone hears anything keep me posted.

Oh my gosh. You guys are so wonderful. I pray that you guys can save this guy. Thank you so much. If there is anything I can do let me know. I wish I lived near Arkansas.... I just pray they give this guy a little more time.

I can take him-I need everyones help though with calling the shelter and getting him a reprieve and then we will have to get him to me- but I can take him- I have been working on this for hours and have fosters lined up- Can you guys please help with the calls to the shelter? I can not drive there this weekend though- I will be out of town- Lets see what they can do to help us. Please PM me if we are successful at this.

Here's the update Guys! He's safe & they'll hold him. DeDe was GREAT! She says he's the Sweetest Boy you could ever immagine. Paige is working on the "How" right now. She's a Miricle Worker 'ya know. :-* Thanks for all the good wishes & calls to the ac. Marie. Thanks!! We'll keep you all updated.
There's another one there too. A very young and extreemly sweet pure white Husky with blue eyes. We'll see what can be done for this boy too.

The thought of this pyr being PTS just because he's a big paw... Heartbreaking. But now he's got a second chance because of all of your efforts! You all are heroes for saving him! And thanks to DeDe for getting the ball rolling! You guys are amazing. If you ever need any help up in the Michigan/Ohio area, I would love to be involved. It must be so satisfying to know you are truly saving a life! ;D

I put some calls out to Husky Rescue. Had some problems with valid emails & Phone #'s for Regional so I've contacted National. Just waiting now to hear back. Anyone have connections with Husky Rescue?

I guess that I am going to have to make a road trip to Arkansas- its going to be an all day trip but thats ok- I will pull the husky but would have to be just pulling and transporting- I am really out on a limb on the Pyr but I have that worked out- Its really probably going to be a good thing for the Pyr, I will give you guys details on that later- I dont want to jinx anything but there is a special little boy with special needs that this Pyr is going to hopefully be a key part of his life and soon. Cross your fingers that everything falls in place- if not I have another placement for the Pyr....

Please let me know when you pull the Husky, as of right now there is not a husky rescue for Arkansas unless they are not listed. I am waiting to hear from a resuce here to see if they can have him transported for their program.

Update:
I'm still waiting until tomorrow to hear back about the Husky Babe. Fingers/toes/paws crossed!
"Jack" (the PyrX) is doing great with Kendra and awaiting transport to his forever home.
Kendra is fantastic! What a Gal! She reports that "Jack"
(Kendra named him) is the sweetest boy ever! Gets along great with her beautiful Pyr Girl Isabelle. (Isabelle is awesome!) Even with their friends little JR Terrier! ;) Jack and Isabelle even eat together! :o Although Jack gives a slight growl when Isabelle gets a bit too rambunctious. You all know how that puppy thing goes, eh?
Well that's the latest on this story. Paige will update as things progress. And!!!! He really does look a LOT like Chammie & Rollie! All rolled up together. ;) :-* Doesn't get any better than that now does it?

Jack is safe. I didnt get any pictures and I am sorry- but the foster/possible adoptive mom is going to take some pics and share with me.
Jack was a sweet beautiful pyr/collie mix. He didnt seem that large to me, but he was a big boy and he is extremely underweight. After a few days of ups and downs on transport, my husband brought him home in the semi truck for me- he went by, met with Kendra and brought him home- Jack was only here at my house for a short period of time- then we went to the fosters home. I stayed with him for over and hour and then came home- I spoke to the foster yesterday and Jack is doing great- and there is a flat coated retriever at the house as well and the boys are getting along fabulously.
So thats the story of Jack- I will get some pics- but his life was saved thanks to BPO
