Slated to be PTS tomorrow morning at 9am. Anybody in Carroll county that can help? I'll be happy to pay the 15 dollar pull fee.

I could possibly help with transportation (I'm roughly 3 hours from Akron), but I don't have anywhere to keep him. Don't know how my guys would react to a strange, shy male in the house. Gosh, he's beautiful though. Can anyone else help?

My hands are really full right now. :-\ Has anyone contacted SaveOurSaints yet that you know of? He does look like there might be Pyr in the mix. Sweeet looking fellow.
This is the Season isn't it? They like them when they're little & then just let them run and don't give a darn. STUPID PEOPLE!!!! >:( Gurrrrrr!!!!
I have to make a quick run into town but I'll see if I can reach somebody when I get back. Anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks everybody. I knew if he could be saved it would be from here. I can't take him either but like I said, if it just the pull fee, I'll be happy to pay that to save him. He is just so beautiful.

I'm back from town now but I made the call to the shelter before leaving home. Called twice & I got the voice mail so I left a message. They open at 7:00AM. I'll call again in the morning and do some more searching tonight. Looks as though he'll have to be in isolation for a while to make sure he's in good health judging by the information on the site.

Thank you. It says he walked up to a child which is how they finally caught him. He just looks so sweet.

Jane, I just e-mailed you, but it's after 10pm PT so I'm sure that you're asleep but if there is anything that I can do, please let me know. Do you know if they are going to hold him a little longer than 9AM tomorrow?? :'(

Jane & Tazz! If someone can pull him, we will take him. I'm serious, I just talked to my husband and he is fully behind me on this. We've been talking about adding someone to the family for awhile, but with health problems & all we've waited but with 5 humans in the family to help out we can handle another pup & this boy just looks like he needs to be part of our pack. If there is another safe place for him that's closer, that's fine but otherwise we'd love to have him. It sounds like he loves boys & we have 3 of them. ;) ;D We're in the NW, but as soon as he can travel, we can have him flown to us. Can someone please help us get him out of the shelter in time?? It's late here now, but I'll try to leave a message at the shelter asking for more time for him. Please PM or e-mail me at:

Thanks Tazz. I haven't heard anything, but I couldn't sleep (it's 5:30AM here), so I just called the shelter. The man said that they've received a number of calls about this boy and that he won't be put to sleep at 9AM ET after all. He said that he doesn't know exactly who is going to pull him yet or where he is going to go, but that they have received other calls from out of state. It sounds like he is going to be ok for now anyway, but he still has to get out of there soon as they are short on room. I'll feel much better if/when I know for sure that he's out of there and either safely in a home, rescue or on his way to us, however it turns out. Until then I'm a bit of a nervous wreck. If I haven't heard from Jane by then, I'll call the shelter back again in a few hours.

I just talked to them a bit ago. He's safe. Waiting to hear back from "the Girls" whom he said are handleing this fellow. So I'm trying to reach them now & will let you know. Marie I'll pm you.

Oh, I'm so anxious for the this guy! I'm glad he's going to be safe! But now I'm hoping that you get him, Marie! He'd have such a great home with you! I don't know what I could do to help except transportation, but Jane, please let me know if I can help in any way. I'm available most of today, but I have to go into work later tonight ~ 10pm. I mapquested the shelter and it's just under 4 hours away from my house, which is do-able, but would be a tight squeeze.

Amy, thank you!! Amy, I just heard from Jane & she's busily working on this (bless her! :-*), but we're not exactly sure how it's going to work out yet. I'm sure that she's seen your post though, and that is so very, very nice of you to offer. I'm going to watch for a few more minutes for updates, then I'm going to try to go back to sleep for a little while. I only slept for a couple of hours.
Olesya, that is too funny. Yep, maybe the fact that animal control couldn't catch him, but he ran right to a little boy, is even more of a clue that he could have some Pyr in him. My Pyrs all get this sweet, doe-eyed look about them when they see kids. Whatever he has though, he sure is a cutie! I just want him to be safe, wherever that turns out to be.

I don't know about anybody else, but I am on pins and needles...lol. I am so glad he will be safe and it would only be a bonus if he was living with somebody from here!

Thank you, Nina! I see the "adopted" sign, too. It's such great news that he's safely out of there! I'm not sure yet if he was pulled by one of Jane's contacts or by one of the other people that the shelter employee told me this morning had called about him. So, I don't know yet if he's "home", in rescue, or what, but thank God that he's safe! If I call the shelter I don't think that they'll know if Jane had him pulled or if it's someone else. So, I'm still a bit on pins & needles, but in a good way now, not so worried. When I did sleep overnight, I kept dreaming about that poor pup in that shelter and when I was up, I kept looking at Sammy stretched out asleep in our living room & thinking about how he must have felt last year when he was in a kill shelter. I probably should grow a tougher skin, but guess I'm not sure how to.
Thank you Tazz for letting us all know about this sweet boy! :-* Let's all hope that wherever he ends up he is happy & very loved. :-* :'(

Update folks. Just talked to the Pound People. The sweet boy has been pulled by Rescue. Not sure which one yet as they seemed not to know for sure. ? ? ? But the most important thing is that he is SAFE! I've talked to so many Rescues over the last day my head is actually spinning.
They have my phone # and Marie's too.
Marie, I hope he ends up with you. It would be such a fantastic home! :-* I'll let you know the minute I hear back.

Tazz, that is very, very sweet of you! I don't see Jane on BPO right now so I'll take the liberty of answering for her. I know that she is working really hard right now to find the rescue that pulled him, at the same time as keeping up with all of her usual home & farm chores. She's been really wonderful!!
Thank you again (so very much!) for posting about this sweet pup and for offering to pay for his pull fee. :-* We are hoping & praying that she can track him down soon so that we'll know that he's well & happy or if he still needs a home. If he has a good home in Ohio then we're happy, but if he still needs help we want to be here for him. Thank you all for the encouragement! :-*

Okay, I think I'm far too emotional today. I'm sitting her crying over a dog getting pulled and rooting for Marie to get him.
I so hope you get him. He just looks like a sweetie pie.
This is exactly what I did!!!! I have tears rolling down my face. My boyfriend is sitting on his laptop across the room from me probably thinking I'm a big weirdo ::)
We have SUCH a wonderful group of people here on BPO. I just can't get over it. I feel so priveleged to be a part of this website.

Latest update: I've been talking to St. Rescue & they're trying to locate just exactly where this sweetheart is right now. I had a response from 'Phil' at Carroll County Pound and I was NOT satistifed. So - being an extreemly stuborn and hard headed person, I'm not about to give up till I know for sure he's safe and sound.
Some of what this "Phil" said did not make sense. Could be he's just not the best at communication and I understand how overworked many of these people are, but I want to make sure. He will not give me the name of the Rescue who supposedly pulled him. Stated that he (pupper) has been adopted but the Rescue would be having him nuetered on Tuesday before he goes to his new home. That's NOT the way it works if "someone" adopted him.
I may be. Probably am. And hopefully will be wrong. But when I see Red Flags I have to follow through.
Hope to have a final and super great update soon. Marie and her family are on pins and needles I know.
On a great note. & I should post this on the other thread. The PyrX is safe and sound with Kendra in Little Rock awaiting Angel Paige's transport. He's adorable! And looks VERY MUCH like Julie's Chammie Wammie! What's not to love about that?!?!? Kendra reports that he is the sweetest boy she's ever met.

Thank you, Sarah! I called the shelter yesterday morning & talked to them. She said that they only PTS in case of terminal illness or very severe aggression, so he is safe (there is no time limit, either). He was an owner surrender and his previous family said that he is good with cats & other dogs, but she was going to ask for an evaluation. She did say that he's very active (not surprising, since he's a big puppy still). I really appreciate your offer to pull him. I'll talk to my hubby & we'll let you know if we want to proceed. Thank you again!
