Subject: Fw: Wellsboro, PA: BLIND CHOCOLATE LAB-OFFER OF FEES & TRANSPORT HELP...DIES ASAP... dog needs rescue immediately!

this dog will come SPONSORED can you take him FOREVER? He will be hard to place AS A RESCUE but he is so sweet!!!!! HE JUST NEEDS A SOFT BED AND A LOVING HAND UPON HIS HEAD!

PLEASE CROSS POST THIS DEAR BOY IF I DID NOT ALREADY HAVE A DEAF LAB AT HOME IN RESCUE I WOULD HAVE TAKEN HIM. BLIND DOGS GET ALONG VERY WELL. I KNOW...I HAD ONE! AND 2 WITH ONLY ONE EYE AT HOME NOW! JUST BECAUSE HE IS NOT SIGHTED DOES NOT MEAN HE WILL NOT BE THE MOST LOVING OF ALL DOGS! SOMEWHERE OUT THERE IS THE FUREVER HOME FOR THIS BOY!

Hello,
I was contacted by someone who works at the Pennsylvania SPCA Wellsboro Branch. She is looking for anyone willing to take Shanook, a 7-year-old Chocolate Lab. He is very beautiful and sweet and gets along with all other animals. Unfortunately, he is going blind in both eyes. He can still see shadows. The shelter will be closing and the branch manager has left, so the animals are being put down much faster than usual. This guy doesn't have much hope unless a rescue can take him and try to find him a good home. He is up to date on shots and house trained. This woman is willing to help with transport, transport fees, neuter fees, and she will pay the adoption fee.

So many in need. So few to Rescue. Sad.

Here's one site that may possibly be able to help. Or at least give direction. I'm searching for another one I've used in the past ~ but it's been a while.

Thanks, I'll forward the email on to them with crossed fingers.

I am very close to Wellsboro but with my  crew already here and them being so full of energy, I just don't dare. Then I've got the grandkids living here again, and my lil granddaughter just does not understand "leave them alone". So baby gates are up all over the house to protect the pups. I'm afraid it would make it very difficult for a dog with a sight issue to be here:(

You're playing an important part. Getting the word out on this sweet boy and all the others you've helped. There's no small part. It takes a lot of pieces to connect a puzzle.

My inn is full but there is an instructor down here (Maryland) that specialises in blind dogs- she has wonderful results in a very short period of time  Name is Ruth Chase of Coventry School.

He looks like he's got an older collar on. If someone surrendered a blind, 7-year-old dog... :( I love Labs.
I hope someone up there is able to pull him out.
