: Trying to find "Chilly Bone" dog toys?
: Berner_Mom August 16, 2008, 04:31:51 PM
Anyone know of a website that I can order online the Chilly Bone dog toys?  Who makes these toys?  (They are soft, sturdy canvas outside,non-toxic sponge center.  You soak in water and freeze for an hour, and they are great for teething puppies.)

I have spent all afternoon driving from store to store in my city, no one has ever heard of them- so frustrating!

I have looked online, but the few websites I found don't ship to Canada (I'm in Calgary) which makes it even MORE frustrating.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

If I were you I wouldn't stress about finding the chilly bone brand. If you get another sturdy canvas stuffed toy, soak it, and freeze it it will be basically the exact same thing! Frozen wet socks work well too, but they give the wrong idea that it's ok to chew socks  ;)

LOL, thanks for the tip!  My local Petsmart doesn't carry them, I was there yesterday (actually to three different Petsmarts, and also 2 Petlands, 1 Picese Pet Emporium) and no one knew what I was talking about.

I did find the ebay seller another poster mentioned, but in the meantime, I soaked our Kong Wubba, and froze it for a couple hours, and it was a hit.  So perhaps the Chilly Bone is not necessary anyway.

What Shangrila said about the socks sounds good.
We actually have a chilly bone around here somewhere... I was not real impressed with it.  It is about the same makeup as a small "suspicious chicken" and doesn't soak up the water very well to begin with.  Our pups didn't care for it.  The frozen socks or a wash-cloth sounds more like something ours would like.  One thing Melissa started doing for them that they love is to freeze plain yogurt in ice cube trays and to give them one of those every now and then.. Mmmmm Mmmm.. :)

I got mine at petsmart. Tink loves them.

Also try freezing raw carrots. Tink likes those too, but they make a bigger mess.

It is sooo funny that I posted here yesterday. Last night I gave the chilly bone to Tink and she literally destroyed it. Silly girl. I just can't keep her in chew toys that she won't destroy!
