Hi all,
I am another new Swissy mom and am absolutely in love with my boy - he is just terrific. He turned 3 months yesterday and he is doing well on everything except for occasional peeing in the house. Anyone have any good tricks? I have found it is all about timing, but sometimes we still just can't get it down.

Hi
I think it is all about timing. It sounds like you're doing well already. What a cutie!!

Your "Greater Swiss Mountain Dog" is adorable!! :)
And about house training a Swiss puppy they can take a long time to house train. It is not at all uncommon for it to take until the puppy is 7-9 months old before being really house trained. Most swiss puppies can be crate trained by 3-5 months and this will help in the overall process of house training. I have a American Akita and with crate training she was house trained in one week she was only 8 weeks old! :) But Swissies take a very long time to physically and mentally mature and as a result they can take longer to house train. But crate training is a good thing with this breed. :)
I hope this helps!! :)
And Welcome again to the BP!! :)

Your Swissy is too cute for words!
We weren't having much luck training our 4 month old Newf either. We got some excellent advice from tthe board and he's doing really well now.
He didn't do well in the crate so we invested in several baby gates so that we could more easily supervise him at all times. Thank goodness Wal Mart carries one that expands to six feet wide! Our house has more baby gates than a daycare now but we haven't had an accident in the house in almost a week!
