: Deer and dog team up to go Hunting for Hunters!
: London_Pyr_Lover December 09, 2008, 06:02:46 AM
Okay not really, but that's what this picture looks like to me!  I was looking up Drahthaar's because I read it in Yellow_Dog_Mom's signature, and I'd never heard of that dog breed.  This is the first picture that came up when I Googled the name.  lol!

It looks like the dog and the deer got the hunter, and all that's left of him is his gun and vest...

I have heard of dogs being used to hunt deer in NC and I think that was the name they told me. I had not see one though. Beautiful dog. My son just rescued a Black Mouthed Cur and I had not heard of those either. I guess they are popular in the south.

They are a very nice looking dog from what I can tell, I love wirey dogs.

But according to one website, they are misrepresented here in the US greatly.  The drahthaar is only registered thru the VDD apparently.  Any dog not registered by the VDD is simply a german wirehaired pointer.  I guess there are many hunters trying to pass off their wirehairs as drahthaar's.  :-\
