our first baby born at Puzzled. He was a singleton, born naturally... I had a very long night with Jigsaw. 2:30am She gave birth to one beautiful baby boy. he is brindle with white and HUGE! mom and pup are both doing well.

thank you thank you. For now, we are just calling him the HBK (heart break kid) cause you know he will break your heart :) he is simply perfect in every way. i hope he stays perfect in his ever changing puppy appearence... (bts go thru some weird stages).

Well, I never would have guessed just one pup in there.......lo l. But glad everything went well and he is big and healthy.

Things are going well Jigs is being a PITA though. ugh... she had some discharge after, alot of it, actually, its finally slowed down. though we're told its normal. Sooo fingers crossed for the wee bebie.

thanks everyone. its been a full day and some for puppy being here and let me tell you- this is pretty tiring job. lol Jigsaw is a great mommy however, she is pretty clumbsy and we must watch she dont smoosh him. being only one, mom has alot of milk so hes got the open bar to himself, hes growing like a weed. we are making sure Jigsaw doesnt get mastitis, so far so good... being only one pup i have to make sure he drinks out of more than just one nipple all the time. and he is soooo adventurous. holy moly... what a silly monkey! <3 i love him. hes so perfect. i couldn't ask for more... (except i wanted a RED colored FEMALE. and instead got a Brindle colored Male....BAHAHA)

We are thinking of, if we keep him, Jigsaw is named after the Jigsaw killer in the saw movies... im addicted to movies. AND Repo:the genetic opera, is very quickly rising to the top of my fav. list. It is made by the same producer who made Saw. SOOOO since jigsaw is named from the killer in saw, my little guy (if we keep him) will be named REPO. (cause the killer is a repo man)

How did I miss this? Where have I been? I've got a thing for dog and cat noses, and Repo's is right up there with the cutest ever!
Is one puppy common? I don't think I've ever seen a dog give birth to just one without having some stillborn or anything?

I too have missed this!!! Congrats!!! He's sooo cute. I was curious about the one puppy too, if that's typical? Is this Jigsaw's first baby? She looks/sounds like she's doing fabulously!! When I was little and my parents bred, I always worried that the puppies would get squished!!! So every morning I would do a squirm count to make sure they were all ok!!

One pup is not uncommon, but not too common either. there has been a few breeders with singleton pups lately though. Yes this is jigsaws first litter, and shes doing FAB! im so proud of her... i just took some new pics. i will post some soon

well, its not really showing. its a breed specialty, and they have puppy fun matches. so he will be there. ;)

He's growing like a little weed! I'm surprised at how much he already resembles an adult Bull Terrier already. Most breeds seem to have rather generic looking puppies at first.

Today puppy's 1 week old. took puppy to the vet today, as he has been having some issues with his toes and toenails... things seem to be fine, we just have to soak them 3times a day til they are fully cleaned/healed up.
we got a weight on him... get this... 2lbs!!!!!!

2 pounds, how cute is that, hard to believe any of our big boys were ever that small. must not need a very big bowl to soak those little toes, hope they are better soon.

Yes hes monstro (like a whale)... ummm. being only pup means open seats at the milk bar just for him :)
his nose is actually started to get some black pigment... *his lip too* if you look close you will see a few tiny black speckles...
