: Rescued a pug mix today!
: marinafb March 15, 2009, 03:59:06 PM
I rescued a pug mix today he came from a high kill shelter in Ohio. He was a military mans dog he had to go back and surrendered the dog to the shelter. His name is Mojo and he is very sweet i took him right to the vet he got all his shots and dewormed he has a cough but they didn't think it was kennel cough.I had a crate set up just thought he might like it but after everything he has been through i wasn't sure if he would use it. He sniffed around and made a beeline for the crate curled up and went to sleep.I will try and upload a picture of him the only one i have is at the shelter still. Marina

What a sweet, sad face. He is certainly a cutie.

Aaron and I have been talking about opening a doggie day care here. (We're both really tired of working or "the man"). San Antonio has 2 military bases. I told him one thing I would like to offer if we do open up the day care/kennel is long-term boarding for military members who get deployed. I know they often have to give up their pets because they don't have family members near that can or are willing to care for them long term. It's very sad.

I think you have such a wonderful Idea here.  San Antonio is gonna be hit with a barrage of Navy/Army/Air Force families around June of 2010.
The Bio med training school is leaving the base here at Sheppard and moving it to Fort Sam.
We may be in that mass move,  havent officialy gotten the word yet though.

He is cute, but so sad looking.  I hope you can find him his forever home soon.

I agree with Gemma. I think he's a pug/staffie or pit mix.  He doesn't look anything like the puggles I've seen........an d I mean nothing like.  And they are very popular here so I see quite a few of them.........l ol.

He's a cutie though.  I hope he is settling in well and finds a permanent home soon.

It's funny i went to check on him today and he really looks like a long lagged pug he is so very sweet and smart. His tall is curly now that he is relaxed. He is still not eating a hole lot and is spritzing his foster moms house. I will have him neutered next week! Marina
