: Looking for good homes for quality Great Pyrenees.
: DixieSugarBear April 23, 2009, 07:08:51 AM
Hey guys, A breeder friend of mine is looking for "pyr-fect" home for a few of her dogs. The most important thing is that they be full family members and loved on each and every day. I told here that one of the best places to find the type home she is looking for would be BPO.  Two of these pups are litter mates to my Izzy Bell and Beuman. One is even a son of "FAME" the Westminster group winner. I will attach photos of each of the pups. Plese feel free to pass this information on to anyone that you think would make an outstanding home.

Aneto’s Oh Boy at Whiterose, “Buddy”

Buddy is a 14 month old male out of Best in Show AKC Champion Whitehope’s  Pneuma and AKC Champion Tip’N Chips Mustang Sally litter. He was born on February 22, 2008. Both parents passed extensive health testing done before breeding.  They each have been issued a registry number by “The Canine Health Information center” at http://www.caninehealthinfo.org/chicinfo.html .
Buddy is a sweet, biddable boy with beautiful markings and pigment. He gets along with the girls, in my yard including the old lab and the diva whippet.  Buddy went to puppy behavior classes along with the rest of his littermates starting at 8 weeks of age and his socialization continued at my friend’s house. He likes children and adults and is happy when he can be in the company of people.
Buddy has the beginnings of his companion obedience as he knows the commands for sit, down and come. Buddy is a favorite of Hannah, the 10 year old girl who comes to help me with the dogs. Hannah uses Animal Crackers (Buddy’s favorite treat) to work on Buddy’s obedience commands and a great time is had by all.
When Buddy first came home, he missed the close constant contact he had with Lisa. We found ourselves sitting up at night until he had settled into his crate. Lisa has a home business and Buddy’s kennel run was next to her work area. He was happy being able to keep an eye on her. Our solution? We moved Buddy’s crate into our bedroom. He sleeps right beside the bed and can watch over us at night. Buddy is happy again and we sleep well with such a devoted guardian keeping watch at night.
Buddy needs to be a family dog and has the potential to become a therapy dog when he is older. He is available at no charge to an approved home. He will be placed on a spay-neuter contract with some health certifications required at the age of two.

Gabriel
Gabriel could be known as Talisman Passage for Trumpet if you like it. His registered name is still up for grabs as his papers have not been sent in.
Gabe is a white 13 month old male out of Best in Show AKC Champion Whitehope’s Pneuma and AKC Champion Tip’N Chip Mustang Sally litter. He was born February 22, 2008. Both parents passed extensive health testing done before breeding. They have been issued a registry number by The Canine Health Information Center,at http://www.caninehealthinfo.org/chicinfo.html .
Gabe lived with my brother up until a few weeks ago. Mike developed allergies and Gabe was returned to us. Mike is a minister and lives in a church parsonage. Gabe was a favorite of his parishioners. As part of Gabe’s training, Mike would loop Gabe’s lead around his own ankle and put a few appropriate toys down while he wrote his sermons. The parsonage did not have a fenced yard so Mike would walk Gabe on lead through the neighborhood. Mike said that Gabriel was a wonderful introduction to the neighborhood as this was a new church for him. Mike also used the Church playground (fenced) to continue Gabe’s obedience training. Gabriel has a sit, a down, a come and a very short stay (stay is hard for a young dog, it requires patience and there is so much out there to explore.) Gabe is house trained as well as crate trained with reasonable supervision. Gabriel is available to an approved home at no charge. He will be placed on a spay neuter contract with some health certification required at the age of two.

Talisman Get This Party Started, “Lucie”
Lucie just turned 3 in December. She is out of Best in Show AKC Champion Whitehope’s  Pneuma and AKC Champion Aneto Brown Eyed Girl aka Colette.  Both parents passed extensive health testing done before breeding.  They each have been issued a registry number by “The Canine Health Information center” at http://www.caninehealthinfo.org/chicinfo.html .  Lucie won both of her majors towards her AKC Championship at 13 months, but was never pointed out.  Lucie was placed in a show home but was returned to me in August of 2008. When she first got home, she was nervous and unsure of herself. We brought her into the family room/puppy room and have tried to incorporate her into family life and find that she is the sweet, happy girl we remember. I think she will make a nice house dog. I’m having her spayed and doing health certifications on her in April.
Lucie is small and light in bone, but has a lovely refined head. She and Buddy (a 13 month old male) are fast friends. I do separate her from two of my other girls, because they tend to be too tough on her. I don’t think she will ever be pack leader. Lucie’s  goal in life seems to be becoming a lap dog. If given the opportunity, she has a tendency to ‘drape’ herself over us when we watch TV at night. She likes to give hugs and will sit for treats. She is nervous about her food but is getting more confident that she will be fed and no one will take it away.
If you know of anyone that wants this sweet girl, she is available at no charge to an approved home.

Talisman Bourbon Street Blues, “Remi”
Remi is a beautifully marked 2 year old male. He was originally placed with a Junior Handler. Due to family and financial issues, Remi came home to us in July 2008. When he first came home, he was a little out of shape but after a few weeks in the puppy turnout and a lot of play with the other pups, he was back to his old self.
Remi is a sweet and biddable fellow who enjoys people and other dogs. He is easy to handle in grooming situations (i.e trimming nails, brushing and medical protocols.). He has a beautiful coat that is easily maintained. I think he will be a lovely addition to a family and will make a responsible house dog. He is crate trained and could easily earn house privileges with proper supervision.
Remi is a Ch Dieudonne Impyrial Acclaim, Fame son out of my AKC Ch. Brown Eyed Girl, Colette. Fame is the only Great Pyrenees to have won the Working Group at the Westminster Kennel Club Show at Madison Square Garden in NYC. Remi will be neutered and have health certifications .  His parents passed extensive health testing done before breeding.  They each have been issued a registry number by “The Canine Health Information center” at http://www.caninehealthinfo.org/chicinfo.html
Remi is available to an approved home at no charge.

Oh this breeder is really a great person who care so much about each and every puppy she breeds. Her main goal is to find someone that will love each of thses pups as much as she does. Oh, yes and you get me as an "Aunt" with each pup. Only a home like those on BPO will do for these guys. Oh as as for "Buddy" I do have to have weekly funny stories and photo of him. If anyone would like I will be happy to talk with you about any of this as I have the litter mates to Buddy and Gabe. Oh and Remi is a half brother to my Penny Lane.

Lisa, you should suggest that she puts these dogs on her website  :)
I have people contacting me for older pyrs quite often and I recommend breeders that I know who have dogs available  ;)

This is so VERY tempting! The breeder is only a few miles from me, and it would be so easy to talk myself into another family member. But in all seriousness I don't think I have the time to commit to another pup as Gus is only 6 months  old, and the training and commitment to raising him correctly can sometimes leave my other 2 feeling left out. I would hate to create a problem in my existing pack. Oh, it is so hard to be responsible and think clearly. I can be strong, I can be strong, I can be strong!  However, I will keep this in mind when we head off to class later, and mention it to friends who have asked after Gus and would be great parents. Good luck!

You should give her a call just to talk pyrs. She really is one of the best breeders in pyrs that I know of.

I'm like Patty - I've been avoiding this post because I knew how badly I'd want to bring one of those gorgeous dogs home!

There isn't enough room left on the bed or even in the bedroom for yet another creature, unless I get rid of the husband (there's a thought :D) When we were deciding to get Gus, we made sure we had put away in savings all of the usual expenses for a year's worth of care, and an additional emergency amount for unforseen trips to the vet. We have always felt that adding to the family was a lifetime commitment that shouldn't be made only with emotion, but with forethought, research, and the financial backing to do it right.  We also wanted to show our kids that owning a dog was not an impulsive decision, but one you make with your head and your heart. I want to think that I am responsible enough to put the well being of the crew here ahead of my addiction to white fur ;)  My head is in the right place, but oh goodness, those pictures have my heart going pitter patter right now!
Thank you Lisa, for the suggestion to call the breeder. I could always use another avid Pyr lover to talk to  :)
GrETa, you could really use a playmate :D You should talk your Mom into another white ball of fluff ;D

They are all so beautiful.  How sad that they are all looking for homes, but thankfully the breeder made sure they would be taken care of.

Lucie is beautiful!!  My husband only wants black dogs...the whole shedding thing...Black dogs actually make me nervous when Harley goes out at night he is impossible to see, really scares me.

Hoping all the beautiful and handsome dogs find a wonderful home.
