: IMPORTANT! Dog-aggressive Dane pictures
: CadillacQueen July 12, 2009, 03:39:49 AM
So I have a two and a half year old adopted fear-aggressive Dane.
When she saw another dog, nothing held her back. She turned into a whirlwind of barking, snarling, foam, scrabbling paws and red-eyed fury. She snapped collars, leads and halters.

FINALLY!
After a few months of tears, fears, love, leadership and  training, here's where we're at:

Great job!

Love and Patience, that's all it takes. Our puppers really do want to be good puppers we just need to show them how. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done and a much happier Dane baby.

Wow!! You did a great job. I know a little how you feel. I have a jack russell who I got at the human society that is dreadful with female dogs.  But she is little, to have a big dog with that kind of behavior takes a lot of guts and passion to take on.

Good for you!

How is she on leash when approaching other dogs?  Leash reactivity is often a separate issue from dog aggression.  My guy is reactive on leash when he sees other dogs but is well-behaved at the off leash dog parks.  He was just neutered a month ago and boy have I seen a major decrease in his reactivity.

Good job on that.  It is really hard. We got our first Saint due to dog aggression. She was going to be put down for killing another dog. But we took her and we did a lot of work with her. Turns out she wasn't socialized and didn't know how to behave around other dogs. Now she is laying on the couch with Buster, our saint bernard puppy. She still can't stand little dogs that bark at her though.
